Just imagine how heartless, inhumane and callous Nigerians are to fellow Nigerians! We don't have light but Benin, Togo and Niger have electricity to the extend of owing bills to a tune of $18.29m USD.... Yet if we owe N6,000 they will remove our cables and sell it off!

The perpetrators of this evils will not die well!

Togo, Benin, and Niger are owing Nigeria $18.29 million for electricity consumed in 2022, the Ni- Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), has said.

If these countries owe Nigeria this amount of money for electricity provided to them in 2022, I wonder why their electricity has NOT been turned off just like they do to Liegerians. This beats me!

Tunder Fire the NERC- for coming out this time- just because of the New Sheriff in Town- Tinubu,as he may be weighing to terminate their appointments!
This Corrupt entity, together with the DISCOS are part of the Institutions that is holding Nigeria Industrialization down! Just imagine!
Is it not wickedness, that we Nigerians are suffering perpetual Darkness and paying for this darkness, yet ,you claimed to be supplying the Neighbors -who happens to be unfriendly and parasites -without appreciation!
They are like South Africa- whom Nigeria Army fought the White for their liberation, only for them to be killing Nigeria till this day!
Very Shameful indeed.

•To President Tinubu:
Pleased ensure that this entity called-
1- NERC-should be disbanded and probed!
- Discos should be re- purchased as they are just not moving forward for better Services and very Corrupt!
2- NNPC should be disbanded- they should go and learn from Saudi Arabia' ARAMCO'-and see how things are done that makes them one of the most Profit oriented Company in the World with no traces of Corruption!
-NNPC and all their Subsidiaries are terribly Corrupt as they are more of self- serving than the Masses benefiting from them.
Very Shameful indeed.

This one that Benin Republic has no known natural resources in abundance apart from mostly Salt, the open border was a good way of making them realize some national income..... Government can have a pact with this countries based on opening the border and having an agreed plan on payment.

Kanji dam is not the only power generating source that we have. We have about 5 other sources and all connected together to a single phase at Oshogbo. Kanji is water-powered (hydroelectric), other power plants are powered by different forms of energy like gas, steam e.t.c

If they build their own dam, only kanji will be affected and we can increase the output of other power plants that we have to cover the decrease in kanji

I just want to believe the reason we are giving these countries power while we stay in darkness is that they would flood Nigeria with their dams if we don't. However, what I don't understand is why they enjoy the power and not pay for it.
That's what most people don't understand. They will flood Nigeria with their dam if Nigeria don't supply them.

But what I don't understand is that why are those countries having 24hr power supply continously and Nigeria who is supplying them can't?

It is not free gift to those countries but as a result of us building DAMs to our benefits
