If the average Nigerians can afford this current price of petrol then we can compare to other countries. No one will be protesting or complaining today. Even though the petrol price in other countries are 3 x or 4x higher compare to petrol price in Nigeria, the average citizens of those countries can afford to buy petrol at such prices. These foreign government makes palliative or give tax break to upset such high prices.
The evidences are clear today, less motor on the road and higher foot trafficking. It is so bad that many Nigerians who have cars are not driving.
Tinubu's administration should make fuel price affordable for the common Nigerian.

if we have effective and efficient public transport system people will bother less about driving cars.....that's why in those countries their leaders take the same public transport as the citizens so they have no choice than to make the public transportation to be effective efficient and affordable.
Truth is we have just been living large on oil money and the government used it to provide lots of freebies and largese.....without concomitant investments .... unfortunately the source of funds is drying up so we have to wake up to reality.

Why don't you make a law to make your salary 1 billion, or to regulate rent?

Nigeria jagajaga was sang too early. I heard that zombies buy fuel at 68 naira per litre once they show their zombie card. Good for them.

Because the average Nigeria cannot afford the prices, if it was not issue. No one will be protesting. Make the price of petrol affordable, it is not so hard.

Why don't you regulate salary while you're at it?
You fix price and you will have scarcity then everything lockup cos no business man will sell at a loss.
If you pay subsidy they will continue looting till you run out of free money them schools will collapse, hospitals will collapse, just cos you want awoof

A partial subsidy should have suggested, not a total removal of subsidy. Then overtime, the removal of subsidy would have been gradual. Not sudden with no general increase in wages or attempt to make sure that palliative is available to the average Nigeria. The plan to remove the fuel subsidy is good on paper but the reality is average Nigeria cannot afford to buy fuel at such cost. No one is driving like before

All Nigerian presidents since 1999 are wicked. They tefused to create refineries. Also, why must Nigeria sell oil to nigerians at the global oil price? Yes sell that to foreign countries but something you drill out of the ground, you now complicate the process so much that the citizens of a oil producing nation has to pay the same as that of a nonoil producing country like Italy. Greed has finished Nigeria.

A partial subsidy should have suggested, not a total removal of subsidy.

What have you gained over the decades with partial subsidy
More looting
Then overtime, the removal of subsidy would have been gradual.

We have been removing subsidy gradually for 20yrs plus
All we have to show is some stupendous thieves and scarcity every year
Not sudden with no general increase in wages

Employers have started increasing wages
or attempt to make sure that palliative is available to the average Nigeria.

Define palliative
Sharing money
How has sharing worked in the past
It will just be cornered and scarcity will start in the new shared commodity
The plan to remove the fuel subsidy is good on paper but the reality is average Nigeria cannot afford to buy fuel at such cost.

The reality is we are borrowing to pay subsidy
Is that good in real life, forget paper
Borrowing to consume?
No one is driving like before

they were never suppressed to be driving but cheap fuel deceived them
