Humans; Outgrowing Ourselves

In today's world, when we talk about growth, it more often usually refers to progression in personal development, career, or profession. Sometimes, it could refer to science as part of the characteristics of Living things we were taught in school.

There's a type of growth that is hidden somewhere in between. For instance, there are certain clothes that we like dearly either for their smart look, beautiful colors, being present, etc but we have given them out to relatives or those who needed them. We didn't give them because it was tattered or had some hidden deficiencies but solely because we had outgrown them.

Think about: Carelessness, greediness, Arrogance, Anger, "I don't care" nature, Lacking empathy, Self-centeredness, Discrediting others' opinions, certain things we used to say or do, etc.

I have realized that these are attitudes or behaviors that we sometimes naturally "outgrow" even when we think it's our nature. I have found this is due to mainly the below-listed items but not limited to them.

1. Age: Sometimes getting older takes away some things that usually come with conscious efforts.
2. Life: The thoughts of life being short and the uncertainty of the next second calls for humility.
3. Feedback: While some disregard others' opinions of them, others may adjust knowing how relevant it may be.

It would be out of place not to mention that some will struggle with s
these for different reasons. It is an effort we'd continuously battle with.
