Market prices for food and goods should be regulated by the federal government to counter the rise of food and regular items due to an increase in minimum wages. The only thing I fear is that once the minimum wage is high, everything goes high. Everyone want to gain. This is not the first time this has happened. I do not what this economic phenomenon is called.
How can food insecurity be addressed in certain parts? If Bandits remains unchecked, kudos to the brave men of Nigeria Army who are trying. Food needs to be imported to upset a growing population. Yet a nation needs to produce food at a large scale

They should invest in agriculture, transportation, security and power first before doing anything. Once these things are working we will start seeing changes.

Even the FG can't afford to make 100k the minimum wage for federal workers not to talk of states like Taraba, Zamafara, Benue, Ebonyi, Cross River, Ekiti etc

Okay, it would be better if min wage is 500k, so we can all sit at home and party everyday.

Price of garri will now be like N200/cup.

Foolish suggestion. Everyone should produce something critical to create excess supply of needs and drive prices down below foreign cost of those goods then start exporting to earn forex.

No one is saying the min wage should ridiculously high, but be reasonable. N30K to N50k a month is too small when food and goods price are too high. N100K is not bad, no wonder Nigerians are get poor.

That if the agriculture sector is taken seriously by all Nigerians. Nigeria had become import depended. The average youth do not want to farm when we have fertile soil.
More corporate agriculture is the way to go if they can pay descent salary to their workers.

Jobs that pay minimum wage should be part time, for students, thats the realistic thing, not for old grand papas who have learnt nothing productive all their life.
