Reno Omokr:nigeria Is Not Oil RICH. Nigeria Is Oil POOR. by tamdun: 11:08am On Jul 27, 2023 |
You keep saying Nigeria owes you fuel subsidy, free education, and cheap food because Nigeria is an oil rich country. Let us examine the facts about how oil rich Nigeria is: Nigeria produces less than 2 million barrels of oil daily for a population of 200 million people. Ghana produces 200,000 barrels of oil daily for a population of 35 million people. Angola produces 1.1 million barrels of oil daily for a population of 34.5 million people. Libya produces 1.2 million barrels of oil daily for a population of 6.7 million people. Saudi Arabia produces 12.5 million barrels of oil daily for a population of 35 million people. Qatar produces 2 million barrels of oil daily for a population of 2.6 million people. The UAE produces 3.7 million barrels of oil daily for a population of 9.6 million people. Nigeria is not oil RICH. Nigeria is oil POOR. Our oil is a drop in the ocean compared to our population. By a ratio of resources to population, Nigeria is one of the lesser resourced nations in the world. Don't use Ghana, Angola, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, or The UAE to compare with us. They have more resources than us per capita. The only major thing Nigeria has more than those nations is a humongous population of ENTITLED people. If you and I do not produce, and if our government does not cut waste, Nigeria will sink into deeper and deeper poverty, even if you bring angels from heaven to govern Nigeria. https://twitter.com/renoomokri/status/1684494815235387393?t=kjZYDp_K3PZ9KxrH9EjM_w&s=19 2 Likes

Nigeria is oil poor according to Reno because the wrong people have been ruling the country for too long .. Just about when God was about to answer Nigerians prayer for a more responsible leader in Peter Obi, Tinubu snatched it through the help of INEC chairman Professor Mahmoud. Now, see how terrible they've ruled the country . Everybody is complaining of Tinubu bad leadership including his supporters are cursing him everyday because of the hardship that the Tinubu government has brought upon them. 1 Like 1 Share |

Arguing with many Nigerians seems to be a waste of time and one wonders when the so-called educated ones championing the narrative of "Nigeria as a rich country" praise. How is Nigeria a rich country? Having potential is different from actualizing that potential. Depending on the rent economy would continue to plunge the country into deeper poverty. Until our education system is overhauled and malpractice is completely expunged so we won't have miracle centers products forming analysts on social media, Nigeria will not able able to form a public opinion that would shape our policies to attain desired development 2 Likes |

I agree with you, Nigerians are largely ignorant. They are all over social media abusing people, if you give them the opportunity they'll do worse. Ask a typical Nigerian complaining about bad governance what he will do differently if he's elected president and hear the person spew inanities, on NL,one joker said he will borrow $2tr to strengthen the naira, he also said he'll fix our power problem in 3 years. |

Sincerely, Qatar, UAE and Kuwait have a lot of money to throw around. The funny thing is that these countries don't even work so hard to make their money, considering it comes from oil and they have a fewer population. But when it comes to giving and international donations, the US, UK and other western countries will always be in the vanguard! What are these islamic countries doing with their money? The UN agencies have been struggling to feed Yemenis for long now, but these fellow Gulf countries cannot even spear a few billions to help feed hungry people in war-torn Yemen. |

Nigeria produces corruption. Buhari pumped hundreds of billions to fix PH, Warri and Kaduna refineries for 8 years and ended up without producing a drop of petrol. Stop bringing in the population comparison. Reno is a snake. Notice how he avoided Egypt. Egypt produces around 600,000 barrels per day. Egypt has about 109 million population. Egypt still pays petrol subsidy. Egypt generates 59,000 megawatts, most of the power investment by their government. If we are to use population to judge, Nigeria having twice the population of Egypt and producing 3 times crude oil more should be generating at least 30,000 megawatts. But Nigeria is generating 5,000 megawatts. |
Re: Reno Omokr:nigeria Is Not Oil RICH. Nigeria Is Oil POOR. by nairalanda1(m): 5:02pm On Jul 27, 2023 |
tamdun: Exactly. That's something that SLS even said once back in 2012, when we had to remove the subsidy then. Reno is making too much sense these days. But having said that, the same was said in 2012, yet many APC supporters went on protest and riots, and the subsidy was kept. Now, thanks to their protests, the subsidy has generated a lot of debt and here we are...forced to remove it. |

tamdun:and who's responsibility is that? Do you know how many jobs will be provided if 75 billion Tinubu is giving the national assembly of furnitures? Tinubu travel with 150cars in his convoy, do you know how much that is cause? Go and look at the amount budgeted to feed tinubu and his family, is that not enough to provide jobs for our millions of graduates? Farming would have been the second most important factor but go and ask how much is fertilizer. The government should provide jobs instead of extravagant spending on their officials. |
