dfrost: Terrahawks and this reminds me yet of another one. Bird Man. Voltron defender of the Universe. 😂 Then I'll say I'm the leg, others will say they are the head and hand. Lol . Our childhood was more fun. Not now that a 14 year old is thinking of yahoo. Then wetin we dey think? 1 Like |

Back then,NTA fostered unity in the country. Children all over the country watched same programs. 9pm often seemed like midnight when it's time for the NTA NEWS. Nigeria began to disintegrate with the coming of private television stations and cable tv stations. God bless my generation. |

Village headmaster? I always love the intro music that set the ball rolling for the drama. It is always nostalgic whenever I reminisce on it. |

Corn247: The war was indeed serious for some parts of the nation, namely the Eastern region. In the Western region, life continued as usual and to all intents and purposes, in every day life, you really couldn’t tell there was a war going on in the same country. In fact, the war might as well have been in Congo. That’s how unaffected they were. A couple of notable exceptions were the invasion of Ore, the bombing of Pen Cinema and 1 other bombing that escapes my memory. Otherwise o, work, travel, owambes, naming ceremonies, weddings, concerts, plays etc continued. 1 Like |

omojeje2: Exactly 💯. The theatre of war wasn't in the SW, hence they progressed a bit ahead of others. But then, let's enjoy the thread. |

Racoon: In those days, TV did not start until 4pm and it started with interschools debates, quizzes and science programmes, the odd Tom and Jerry and educative African story telling sessions, good Nigerian sitcoms like Adio's family, Cock Crow at Dawn, Village Headmaster and then after NTA news in the evening every one went to bed including parents. Unlike today when a 5 year old sneaks behind his parents back to watch TV all night long with just 3 hours sleep and the parents are still pampering him. Lets not even talk about what teenagers watch nowadays on web enabled smart phones given to them by CARELESS PARENTS. 1 Like 1 Share |
