The evidence needed is that which could be used to convict him a court.
Currency issue or that Nigerians suffered is not convictable. Courts do not work with emotions but with facts.
They have to prove with evidence eg he horded the currency which could have lead to breach of public peace.
It is obvious that despite keeping him for a month, they are unable to gather evidence strong enough to charge him, hence the flimsy gun charge.
Police or efcc should have handled the investigation as they are better trained to do so.

MR. Obi on the other hand is obviously a very decent human being, and the most modest public official EVER to rise to high level in Nigerian politics.
