As part of our dedication to maintaining a safe work environment, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated HSE Site Supervisor to join our team.

Job Overview:

As the HSE Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all health, safety, and environmental aspects at our project sites. You will play a crucial role in implementing and maintaining our company's HSE policies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in health and safety management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams to drive a safety-first culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Leadership: Provide strong and visible leadership in all matters related to health, safety, and environmental protection. Act as a role model for safety practices and promote a proactive safety culture among all employees and contractors.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential hazards and assess risks at the project sites. Implement effective risk control measures to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents.

HSE Policy Implementation: Ensure strict adherence to company HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices. Develop site-specific safety plans as needed and communicate them to all stakeholders.

Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. Ensure that all activities at the site comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Training and Education: Organize and conduct HSE training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors. Monitor training compliance and ensure that everyone is adequately trained to perform their tasks safely.

Incident Investigation: Lead and participate in incident investigations to determine the root causes of accidents, injuries, and near-miss events. Develop and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.

Emergency Response Planning: Develop and review emergency response plans for various scenarios, conducting drills and exercises to prepare the team for potential emergencies.

Safety Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to assess site conditions and adherence to safety standards. Prepare detailed reports and follow up on the implementation of corrective actions.

HSE Reporting: Compile and submit HSE performance reports to management, highlighting key indicators, trends, and areas for improvement.

Environmental Stewardship: Promote sustainable practices and minimize the environmental impact of the company's operations. Ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulations.

Contractor Management: Review and approve contractor HSE plans and performance. Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with safety requirements.

Safety Meetings: Conduct regular safety meetings with project teams to address safety concerns, share best practices, and reinforce safety protocols.

Qualifications and Requirements:

A minimum of 5 years of experience in health, safety, and environmental management, preferably in the construction sector.
Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or similar.
Strong knowledge of local and national health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate others towards a safety-focused culture.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with employees, contractors, and management.
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a proactive approach to safety.
Attention to detail and the ability to conduct thorough investigations and audits.
Physical ability to access and inspect various areas of the construction site.
Job Type: Permanent

Salary: ₦250,000.00 per month

Higher National Diploma (Preferred)
