A Leader Who Listens: President Tinubu's Empathy And Support For The Nigerian People

By Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah

The nation's elected president, President Tinubu, has exhibited the admirable quality of a good listener by demonstrating a strong knowledge of the financial hardships that parents and kids may experience as a result of the removal of the fuel subsidy.

He has urged the authorities of all Federal Institutions of higher learning to abstain from any arbitrary increases in sundry fees and proposed the deferral of potential fee hikes, thereby further easing the financial strain on families. This aligns perfectly with his pledge to prevent any Nigerian student from forfeiting their academic pursuits due to financial hardship.

As an African proverb wisely states, "A wise king listens to the whispers of his people before the roaring of the lion." In President Tinubu's case, his decision to seek counsel and understand the concerns of the people showcases his prudence in governance.

Indeed, the voice of the people is the heartbeat of a wise ruler. President Tinubu embodies this truth by lifting all restrictions on student loans. This makes them accessible to any student or household in need, as affirmed by Mr. Dele Alake, Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties, Communications & Strategy.

The African proverb stating that "The true strength of a leader lies in their ability to listen and understand" resonates strongly with his actions.

To further demonstrate his commitment to the well-being of the Nigerian populace, President Tinubu sanctioned the release of over 200,000 Metric Tonnes of grains to families across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

This initiative will also be extended to include vulnerable students, who will benefit from conditional cash transfers and food distribution.

As another proverb goes, "A king who embraces counsel will rule with compassion." In President Tinubu's case, his benevolent acts exemplify how a leader with listening ears builds bridges of trust with their people. He leads the nation towards a brighter and more prosperous tomorrow, just like the moon, shining brightest when they reflect the light of their people.

In the midst of the uncertainty and anxiety caused by the removal of fuel subsidies, President Tinubu emerged as a light of hope and compassion, leading by example and underlining that a leader who closes their ears to advise stands alone in their ignorance.

His undying commitment to reducing people's suffering served as a striking reminder that a leader's greatness is assessed by how much they appreciate their subjects' voices.

President Tinubu's actions will leave an indelible mark in the annals of history, a testament to the profound impact of a leader who listens, cares, and takes action for the greater good of his people. With a keen ear to the needs of the nation, he has guided us towards a brighter future.

As we face the enduring battle against corruption, may we witness more displays of compassion from our President. Together, let us confront the challenges that have persistently plagued our society, and forge a path of progress and unity for generations to come.

A leader who is confused

You role out policies and laws you don't have resources and strategies to implement...

You just directionless

Is your government is done in the media
Why remove subsidy when you don't have palliatives in place..

See the confusion with school fees and student loans
