BAT sis similar thing in Lagos. Obasanjo who does not want anybody to be above him opposed it . Same applies to the creation of LCDAs.He witheld Lagos money only to be paid by Yardua. More IPPs are needed in Nigeria!

Very nice laudable project 👍

One good thing APC have done since being in power

This will improve electric power generation.
More should be done relating to power South South, South East and South West master plan for power should be looked into.

The North is being taken care of through the AKK gas pipeline
So South should also be sorted out.

Very good one PMB 👍

Now my Properties for Gwagwalada that I wanted to sell off I will leave it

This Development will appreciate properties there

Good!! However, I needed clarification, is it foundation laying for Phase 1 or commissioning of Phase 1?
If it's commissioning, how do they intend sourcing the feedstock for the plant?

Igbos rather start asking for their own PowerPlant

SS should start asking for their own

Because that's where the gas will be coming from. They will use gas from SS and SE to industrialize the north while the owners of the gas will just be admiring the pipelines

There are several gas powered power plants in the South-East and south-south already. You might want to do a Google search of all the NIPP projects. There are also several state power plants, mainly by Rivers and Akwa Ibom

It's ground breaking.

Basically they are just starting construction.

The ll steal from the south and develop the north. Southerners wake up. The amount of money sunk into this akk project is enough to build us a refinery and also a power station in the south

This fulani people never fail to amaze me in their warped planning, you are doing Abuja-kaduna-kano gas pipeline, you are breaking ground on a gas guzzling gwagwalada thermal power plant but you have not commissioned the critical and most important pipeline that will take gas from the gas deposit fields in Ohaji egbema thru Anambra-Enugu-kogi and finally to the AKK pipeline.............Their own is to deny Igbo heartland gas for as long as possible ............watch they may even take the gas south thru Niger delta cutting Igbo land completely...........to say our Igbo political reps are asleep is an understatement!

Wuruwuru project meant to serve one part.

They prefer to transmit gas far away to power a plant in Abuja. Why not generate it where the gas is and transmit power since we have a national grid in place already?

Anyways, half bread is better none.
You lose power over distance
This way you get less waste

transmission of gas also requires power. That leaves transmission of power as the best option.
