During a nationwide broadcast on Monday evening, President Bola Tinubu declared his government’s commitment to support the manufacturing sector and small businesses in Nigeria, in response to the country’s current economic challenges.

He unveiled a plan to allocate ₦75 billion between July 2023 and March 2024 to strengthen the manufacturing sector by providing financial aid to 75 enterprises. Each of these enterprises will receive a credit of ₦1 billion at 9% interest per annum, with a maximum repayment period of 60 months for long-term loans and 12 months for working capital. However, the specific implementation details of this policy were not mentioned.
