Military Led African Countries Are 'Uniting Towards A Common Interest' - GRV by leanonme82: 10:13pm On Aug 04, 2023 |
The ex-Lagos Governorship candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes Vivour posted the following on his twitter page: 'Unlike some, i have only one passport and have sworn no allegiance to any other state. Nigeria is all I have. A war with a people who appear to be uniting around a common interest, seeking economic freedom and a departure from over bearing western influence will have very dire consequences for our image as a regional power and could pose much graver security threats. Their alliance in the footprint of the ancient songhai empire is not by accident, their fight is also ideological with the memory of Thomas Sankara being evoked. For several years in recent times, we have seen both political and military leaders send patriotic soldiers to war illequiped and with very little remuneration while they reward themselves with vanities. We are still grappling with major insecurity as a result of the destabilization of Libya by France and its Allies, and because Africa did not present a United front, west africa is paying the price for that destabilization. Forget the fact that we have serious internal security challenges that is stretching our military, or the fact that our economy is in a parlous state, how does it make sense that Nigeria wants to lead an effort to spill the blood of people who are seeking emancipation? We must focus on a diplomatic solution. Nigeria cannot afford to be enmeshed in a war and we must stand against international destabilization of the region, if we don't, it will be a mess we will eventually clean up and pay dearly for, ask Libya.' Someone who wanted to be a democratically elected governor. The commitment and loyalty of these people to our country and democratic development is seriously in doubt. Does it take a military coup to liberate your country from some phantom foreign influence? Someone who could have been the governor of Lagos state holding brief for some coup plotters! |

GRV shouldn't be class teacher, he is so small minded. How many military coups have we had in Africa? and how many of the military leaders succeeded in bringing tangible changes to the people? Military coup at the core is simply a Power grab and whilst some coup plotters might be revolutionaries, majority of the coup plotters are often opportunist. |

Forget shakara, Tinubu does not have the balls to invade Niger. He is just looking for ways to distract the Tribunal and so he would be allowed to continue and backed by Western power to the detriment of the Nigerian masses. Nigeria is not invading Niger even in Tinubu's wildest dreams, he is only trying to use the crises to confuse the Presidential election tribunal Judges to rule in his favor, we know the game even before he thought of it |

Corn247:Corn man, GRV isn't supporting coup, he said we should engage them diplomatically not through direct military confrontation that you corn-fused BATstards want to massage una tiny pricks. We don't need more wars, Nigeria won't survive any external war with the Tinubu's murdered economy of today |

Iamgrey5:Babangida and Abacha's military regimes are far better than Buhari and Tinubu's civilian regimes. Tell me how many giant projects civilian regimes in Nigeria have delivered since 1999 compared to what Military governments did? 3rd Mainland Bridge, Refineries, Ajaokuta Steel, Asaba Steel, Akwa Ibom steel, major federal roads in Nigeria, etc, etc unlike now that civilian governments are busy looting and lack direction. Too many hands looting the country's treasury unlike under Military regime |

franchasofficia: Even ur fellow Obidient can see dt he supports the coup with that statement. He can speak against ECOWAS going to war. Dts a good thing. He didnt have to romanticize coup and give support with maps to justify why theyre doing it. Well his inlaws are coupists and biafran rebels so im not surprised.

leanonme82:But if you hear some of the reasons the coupists gave for carrying out the coup, if you are a Nigerien, you will hail them too. Imagine how these corrupt criminal politicians allow terrorists groups to kill soldiers, if the soldiers try to attack them, they will be told by these corrupt politicians not to, that they should wait for order from above before shooting terrorists killing soldiers. These so called democratically elected corrupt politicians will be busy looting funds meant to procure good arms and to take care of military personnels being exposed to life threatening dangers on daily basis. The only reason coup hasn't happened in Nigeria and won't happen is tribalism and religious division in Nigeria, so make una no fear, coup can't happen in Nigeria again |

You can see the reason why we call any obi follower terrorist. Because they fail in last election, they want the military to take over. I salute PDP they still know how to play their opposition since Apc took power from them. And by 2027 this GRV will still want to contest on a nation that he once call military to take over. Is highly time the government need to curb the madness of this people 1 Like |
