ECOWAS Fails To Deploy As 7days Ultimatum Expires. by Curious345: 2:40am On Aug 06, 2023
My take

1- they listened to the 98% who opposed the war .

2- Tinubu didn't want to squander the ₦1 trillion saved from subsidy on a war.

3- they are scared of the wider consequences.

4- they are scared of proxy wars (Niger can decide to supply arms to iswap and Boko haram) .

5-lack of a consensus for action within the ranks of ECOWAS .

6 poor troop morale .

7- Wagner factor .

8- alliance of Guinea ,Mali and burkina Faso with Niger .

9- refugee crisis.

This is a needless war that should have never been contemplated .. they better back off

Says who?

The ultimatum ends by 12pm today. The Niger coupists won't give in.

By tomorrow expect heavy military presence from ECOWAS in Niger.

It looks like it's going to be a long ride

Nigeria defense budget annually is $3.6 billion USD

We don't need extra funding for deployment

US , AU, EU are fully backing out troops

Attacking Niger would be a mercy. The sanctions are what people should really be focused on.

Niger has lost 70% of it's electricity, a no-fly zone has been setup, so no one can fly in or out of the country, and the borders have been shut. Which means, imports and exports have ceased. Niger is effectively dead in the water.

And all of this, for the simple ambitions of one man. The real reason General Tchani struck, is because President Bazoum was set to reform the military command - which would have led to him being forcibly retired.

He simply ceased the moment; using anti-colonist rhetoric to garner the support of the masses. Which, in reality makes him a hypocrite, as he's been working with these same "colonizers" and "oppressors" for decades.

In Africa when it comes to military might

1st Egypt 2nd South Africa, 3rd Nigeria, 4th Ethiopia

12,000 Niger Soldiers would die in the hands of 230,000 Nigerian Army within a week

You may hate democracy

Nigeria cannot afford to go to war right now unless we are being attacked.

Tinubu is busy undoing Buhari’s mess, he won’t be stupid enough to waste the little savings of subsidy on an avoidable war.

Tinubu is asking for senate support for war just to show to the world that we are taking actions.

A war in Niger means the Northern Nigeria will see worse than Boko Haram… remember that Nigeriens live in Northern nigeria and they even indigenous people that got separated by the colonists, bottom line most Hausa/ Fulani soldiers won’t be motivated to fight their family in Niger.

Tinubu will find a non-force ways to resolve it. In the interest of the rest of Africa and the hardship going on around the world, the one-too-many coup in Niger, Mali and Burkina could turn to a bush wagon effect where other country militaries take power too (Nigeria inclusive)

Bottomline, there will be no war.

Should also not keep quiet.
Currently border drills have been activated...electricity cut....no fly zone declared.... goods blockade imposed....it's only a matter of time before sense enter the coupists give up.
Russia will deny them openly.....though will allow Wagner operate there as Russian soldiers are too busy with Ukraine....

Bros, Nigeria isn't in a good place right now.
Let me ask you this; what's the motive for going to war against Niger?
Or is Tinubu trying to impress Western powers forming their boots on the ground...
If discouraging military dictatorship in West Africa is the reason for embarking on this war, then why has he not threatened Guinea, Mali & the other countries that have military junta

If Nigeria flies out super tucano and alpha jets with gunship helicopter

Blow up the Niger Presidential Villa

Blow up Military Installation

Blow up Army Camps

Niger is finished

The motive is very simple...

1:Niger crisis has tribal undertone, and Hausa in Niger are not happy

2: Incase of Refugee and displacement crisis Nigeria would be heavily burden

3: If Niger is also unsecure like Libya, Human trafficking, Gun trafficking and Terrorism would finish Northern Nigeria

He said Kyiv will fall in 2 weeks.
He later abandoned taking on Kyiv as it's proving too difficult with western weapons shielding kyiv and concentrated on taking one region after the other beginning with Donbass.

(2) War is what brings about a displacement of people which consequently causes a refugee crisis.
(3) Niger will become insecure when Nigeria interferes in their internal affairs. Did their citizens solicit for our support to oust the junta....no.

Nigerian army hasn't defeated ISWAP & BH but are about to be deployed to fight in Niger.

And I ask again, what's our overriding interest in going to war against Niger...

When will we learn to mind our business and stop embarrassing ourselves. Numerous problems abound domestically yet Tinubu is bothered about fighting another man's war.
We shouldn't get enmeshed in Russia-NATO proxy war.

Just condemn the coup & apply sanctions.

Stupidity is when u borrow money from World Bank, IMF, China etc just to go & fight another man's war.
