The term Gentiles mentioned in scripture happens to refer to unrighteous non- Jewish Israel, and not dogs aka non-israelites as many assume. Jesus Christ, the redeemer, made in abundantly clear in His Gospel that He was sent only to the Lost sheep of Israel warning that His followers not give that which is Holy, the Gospel, over to the dogs-- non-israelites.

The original Nation of Israel was divided after the death of Solomon into two Nations -- Israel and Judah. Jews are the Israelites of the Nation of Judah --- generally of the tribes of Judah, Benjamin and Levi. The others of the Nation of Israel were cursed and scattered by God during at the time of the siege of Jerusalem that was carried out by Nebuchadnezzer. At that time, God destroyed the Nation of Israel but delayed His judgement and destruction of Judah - Jeremiah 5. So, when Jesus Christ arrived 500 after the Nation of Israel was no more, He came that the judgement promised by God would be fulfilled on the rest of Israel, the Jews. So when He said He came to redeem the Lost sheep of Israel, He was referring to all Israelites including those previously dispersed. --- the Gentiles---'and those who were to be cursed at that time by God --- the Jews.
