Algeria To Supply Electricity To Niger Republic For Free – Adamu Garba

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Adamu Garba, has claimed that Algeria has decided to supply free electricity to the Niger Republic.

Naija News recalls that the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) had cut off the power supply to the embattled country.

TUC Kano State sub-region Public Relations Officer, Adam Umar El-yandiski, confirmed the news to Channels Television via phone call.

According to him, the connection that supplies power to Niger Republic comes directly from the national grid, therefore, it has no connection with the supply of power to any region in the country.

The move was part of pressure on the country’s coup leaders.

However, speaking via his Twitter handle on Friday, Garba stated that Niger had gotten an alternative to its power supply issues.

According to the APC stalwart, Niger will now receive power supply from Algeria.

He wrote, “Algeria is to supply electricity to Niger Republic for free.”

Power Cut Will Push Niger To Resent You – Shehu Sani

Meanwhile, a former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has berated the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, for cutting the power supply to the Niger Republic.

Sani insisted that the move would lead to Nigeriens living their lives without depending on external forces.

According to reports, power outages in Niger have been less frequent than it was in previous times, as power only stayed on for about an hour at a period for residents of the cities of Niamey, Maradi, and Zinder.

Reacting to the development via Twitter on Friday, Sani highlighted the implication of Nigeria halting power supply to its northern neighbour.

Sani insisted that the move would lead to Nigeriens living their lives without depending on external forces.

Naija News recalls that Nigeria reportedly cut the power supply to the Niger Republic as one of the sanctions from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) over the coup in the country.

He wrote, “Cutting off electricity supplies to Niger Republic is affecting their hospitals, Schools, homes and offices.

“This is not putting pressure on the military junta but punishing the masses of that country and creating resentment against our country.

“The action taken by Nigeria and Ecowas is further pushing Nigeriens to rally around their Military Government. France, Ecowas & Nigeria are pushing them to learn to live without dependence.”

Is Northern Nigeria still part of Nigeria? I am only asking cos Adamu and his likes seem to be supporting Niger and not Nigeria per se. Maybe religion unites the North to her sisters across the border.

Maybe na only South be the real Nigeria. Who knows?

Since they cut Niger power, logically we should have a lil more for our selves but nothing...

Who would believe in 2023 women would be protesting for lack of electricity in urban Areas in oil producing delta state.

All these just showed the idiocy of the current leadership on ground and the reactionary approach to sensitive national and diplomatic issues.

Algeria has been a silent backer of the developments in Niger Republic. It is means, it becomes an automatic antagonist of Nigeria once ECOWAS goes ahead to attack or invade Niger. Foolish balabloo-blu-bulava.See the national shame and disgrace.

This is a fake news. And If Algeria have not been supplying them power supply before, then this is a fake news. It will take years to construct transmission lines.

And I don't still believe this news unless I see a valid source. There's no free thing anywhere in the world.

Next they will complete their dam over River Niger now suspended by the Chinese company building it and reduce water supply to Kainji, Jebba and Shiroro hydropower dams in Nigeria.
Tinubu violated our treaty with Niger republic which made no provisions for sanctions and using electricity as punishment for political impasse,

Nigeriens are seeing Nigerians as enemies now after their soup and meat don sour for freezer because you cut power supply you expect them to support you to impose western backed democracy in Niger?

Maybe Algeria has agreed to supply them with electricity for free. Who knows. This means very soon they would no longer be dependent on Nigeria as a landlocked country

Story. Although you are not supporting the war like your fellow agbadorians, 90% of agbado munchers are shouting war war war for the past week. Anybody that said no to war is ipob and Great Igbo. Now the north is echoing no war all the agbado are recoiling back to their fearful shell or changing mouth.

Tinubu really took poor decisions in this Niger issue.
Cutting off power supply to Niger will only affect the people not the junta .
Sometimes I wonder what the special advisers are really doing.

Well Algeria is taking over now, all this small countries that used to respect us don see us finish cos of bad leadership

Brother, don't you know some people do talk without reasoning first..so Niger will just switch plugs in a day and light will ON immediately..

The distance between Niger and Algeria is over 1300 Km desert..it will take a lot of Years as you've rightly said if there's no transmission lines already.

Agbadorians think Nigeria supply Niger electricity for fun. Now they will build their own infrastructure.
