we used to fetch water from the stream for the owner of the popular standing black and white tv to allow us peep from the window. Sometimes while watching your mom comes shouting your name from afar to go and sleep or eat. Life sha.

Willy Willy may be scary, but the most terrifying horror movies of the '90s are Benita and Sabotage.
Those movies scared the hell out of me as a child then.I remember Benita with its horrific sounding soundtrack "Hmmmm, hmmm Blood.Benita was a lady tormented by a horrifying looking demonic spirit worshipped as a deity by her father.
The spirit later possessed her,but after a lot of horrible experiences which included her blood mixing with that of a half human entity, she was delivered by a man of God.
In the movie Sabotage,Liz Benson and Zack Orji were a childless couple who adopted a baby boy picked from the refuse dump.
Unknown to them, the boy was a vessel of a horrifying beast like demon who later unleashed terror on all who crossed its path or offended it or the parents.

Thanks for this wonderful nostalgia . apparently these are the only Nigerian' filmmakers that got the horror genre right because it stayed with us all as a genuinely scary film

Lemme watch it again with the eyes of an adult

Boys used to discuss willie willie back then in secondary school but I had no idea of what they were talking about. I don't think Willie Willie was popular in Lagos then. I did not know NTA aired it shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked. I watched Jimi Odumosu's '' Evil Encounter '' and Matt Dadzie's horror movie '' Lynx ''. These movies were frightening too.

'' Awa, Awa, Awa shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked '' it was scary hearing this sentence pronounced in '' Lynx ''.

Yes, '' Pot of Life '' was scary too. It was Bendel State's contribution to the Nigerian Film Festival which was held yearly. Called NIFES or something.
