What started like a bad joke is about to become reality. The Nigeria vs. Niger war is about to commence as the France/West side led by Nigeria says the "grin-Day" is set. The Russo/Niger side also seem ready to counter any offensive by the invading forces. The military junta in Niamey has moved their families out of the country. Also, there is ongoing recruitment of civilians as standby force. Uncomfirmed reports also claimed that large number of Wagner fighters are crossing the border from neighboring Mali into Niger.

France is determined to win this war because it will have huge implications for them. If they lose out in Niger, it will have a ripple effect on all their former colonies in West Africa and beyond, whom they've been exploiting for ages. Some reports claimed that without dirtcheap resources and funds from these African countries, that France will eventually become a third world country! So, it becomes obvious why they're hell-bent on removing the military rulers in Niger that are now threatening to cut off their source of cheap sustainance.

This war appears to be another global war similar to the one occuring in Ukraine. Unfortunately for the people of Niger, they're going to suffer the way Ukrainians have been suffering. Their land is going to be devastated. However, they're somewhat better than Ukraine in the sense that there isn't much on ground to be destroyed when compared to Ukraine where multi-billion dollars worth of infrastructure has been destroyed including entire cities and costly infrastructure. Nigeria might even end up suffering more than Niger itself considering that millions of refugees will be heading this way and the cost of war will also impact adversely on an economy that is already in coma.

Some ignorant people have said it's not Nigeria vs Niger, but rather ECOWAS. How can it be ECOWAS war when several ECOWAS countries including Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea and Chad are not in support? Even Algeria that is bordering Niger is against the war.

One indisputable fact is that the military rulers of Niger are enjoying mass local support. History has proven that when locals are united against an invading army, it doesn't end well for the Invaders, no matter how strong they might be. Examples abound, such as Russia/Afghanistan, United States/Afghanistan, Japan/China etc. These countries invaders despite being overwhelmingly stronger eventually left in disgrace. Would the situation repeat itself in Niger?

Which side do you think will win this proxy war?

There is no war between Nigeria and Niger in the first place.

Stop promoting hidden agenda on social media here.

It is purely between ECOWAS and Niger junta forces

Nigeria will blink first.

The war will rather be between Nigeria and Nigerians. I see the north rise in arms in support of Niger.

Lol, Yorubas can be very funny.
Only unintelligent people will be deceived with what is happening.

Now tell me, how is it ECOWAS war when ECOWAS members including Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Guinea and Chad are against the war? Is ECOWAS only for Nigeria, Ghana, and Benin?

Even George Weah of Liberia has warned against war!

France with support of United States are pushing Tinubu to fight this war because it's a threat to France and its economic survival. They're probably using blackmail too.

Again, tell me, if Nigeria withdraws from this war, will the other so-called ECOWAS countries go ahead?

That's what you guys are telling the Hausas, Fulanis and Kanuris in both countries so they won't understand what is going on.

Anyways, this situation will prove if indeed they're wise or dum.b.

Even you yorubas will never accept this war if it were to occur between the borders of South West and Benin republic. But you're here telling them to accept it, that it's in their best interest grin grin

Stop trying to be smart by half. Of course, he knows what ECOWAS is.

How can you call it ECOWAS when many supposed ECOWAS countries including Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Niger, Chad and Liberia are against the war?

If Nigeria should withdraw from that war, will your ECOWAS still continue? If not, then it's Nigeria vs. Niger war simple!

Oga, the decision was taken by Ecowas leaders and not Nigerian leaders.
Did you see your governor as part of those who took the decision? Shelf that talk about Nigeria going to war with Niger cos the only people that didn't have representatives are Mali and Burkina faso, even Mauritania came.

army chiefs of 10 countries, including Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Togo, Liberia, Ghana, Gambia, Cote D’Ivoire, Cape Verde, Benin and Senegal attended

Those absent from the meeting are Mali, Niger, Guinea, Guinea Bissau and Burkina Faso.

The entire North and all its major cities and critical infrastructure are within range of short to medium range missiles. Kano, Kaduna, Sokoto, Maiduguiri and even Abuja can be hit directly from Niger republic. But Northerners shouldn't worry, the war is in their best interest grin grin

What about the deluge of refugees that will overwhelm them? Proliferation of small arms in an already volatile region?

It's either Tinubu thinks they're fools or he doesn't rate them at all.

Anyways some of them are already waking up to the threat. This was El Zack Zacky this morning in Abuja:

You see how stupid you are?.

When Niger leadership are supported by their people, when guinea, Burkina Faso and Mali are in support of Niger Republic. You are just an idiot.

This is going to be a war that will destroy West Africa. And it's part of a bigger plan of population reduction.

This is not a war between ECOWAS and Niger Republic.

This is a war between ECOWAS lead by Nigeria and ECOWAS lead by Niger.

Battlefield will be north of Nigeria, North of Benin Republic and South of Niger Republic.

Yorùbá man is ready to massacre the Hausa and fulanis of Niger Republic probably the ones of northern Nigeria.

The irony is that bring this same war to their region, say Nigeria against Benin republic and see them shouting Yoruba ronu. They will never accept any war that will be fought in their region or their border but here they are promoting the one in another man's backyard.

Obviously, there is no love lust between these guys and Fulanis and Hausas. They're only playing along with them because of political expediency while wishing them evil. A devastated and war ravaged North won't be capable of suppressing them anymore or even continue to rule their territories like in Illorin.

It's all a game plan. It now depends if Northern leaders understand their agenda. Otherwise, they will later cry blood.

It's not even complete Nigeria, because North, SE and SS are largely against this war. How can a nation so divided in this manner hope to succeed? The mass defections and desertions that will hit NA will be unprecedented in modern history.

My major concern is the humanitarian crises it will trigger. Many schools in the North and even South will be closed down and used to house refugees.

The first real casualty will be the Nigerian Oil & Gas Infrastructures in Niger Delta region which will go up in flames due to drone strikes. After that knock out blow, Oil prices will shoot up. More money for Russia, Iran & others!

Stop mentioning Chad as being a member of ECOWAS. For your info, Chad is not an ECOWAS nation just like Cameron is not.
However, you have been told here already that Nigeria is not going to war against the niger. Neither is ECOWAS planning to fight the people of the Niger Republic. The issue is ECOWAS against the military junta in niger. We Northern are aware of where all the misinformation that Tinubu is planning to invade the niger is coming from. One even wonders how very hate-filled disgruntled elements are now claiming to hold friendship and sympathy for the people of the North and niger people.
