Popular coach of a successful international soccer team (name witheld) revealed recently in an interview with Talk Sports (a popular sporting podcast show) that many members of the audience think that being a star player in a big club makes the coaches of national teams feel more likely to pick you for the national team squad.

National team coaches who know what they are doing, don't pick players based on the hype surrounding their football club.


"Big Club doesn't mean you're a big player"

Successful National team coaches who have won trophies in the process didn't prioritize their squad selection on which and which players are playing in the big clubs abroad.
Infact some of the most valuable players in the national team squad, don't play for big clubs with loud hypes.
Now, if a player is part of a big club, there are lots of parameters to look at critically before checking his name on the list as for National team squad inclusion.
So don't worry if you find yourself in a soccer club that doesn't make a lot of noise on the media.
Clubs like PSG, AJAX, etc etc are not too loud with hype like Real Madrid, Barcelona and the well known EPL, Serie A and Bundensliga clubs. In fact the clubs down the tables of some of these quiet big leagues have very good players more than you can imagine.

So Big Club doesn't mean big player and quiet leagues doesn't mean small players.*
