Well Done good job as usual, where you able to finish the decking in one day?

Very solid body of work engineer. Please permit me for derailing your thread

Please read below to see if you could possibly recommend a solution to the water in my building.

The plot beside me which was previously swapped was sand filled. My building is an old building so Water started sipping into the compound from the joint btw the German floor and the fence. What I did was I decided to raise the compound by stamping and the water stopped in the compound but once the rain started and water level rose(because there’s a swamp behind, it’s under a Powerline) water started sipping from under the tiles into the room. I’ll attached some pictures for better understanding. This problem only occurs towards the back of the bungalow because there was an error it was built, the level of the front is higher than level behind and unfortunately that’s where the swamp is. Only one room and a small sitting room were affected.

Good day sir,

Sorry for responding a bit late.

However, you already stated the cause of this from your write up which is as a result of high water table there when rain falls.

Also it is pertinent to note that, the foundation height of the Bungalow you have is low, that's one of the reasons it's getting in. Now, the possible or obtainable solution can come in two or more ways.

One of which is to try and create a drain to which the water can be channeled away from your building, that's should in case the other land is too close to your own building.

Telling you to raise the floor may not entirely solve the problem completely without tackling it from the source. Unless the water is coming from beneath, then it's a different approach to the solution of the problem.

Standard curing time is 21 Days (Minimum)
Full curing to 99% is 28 Days.

So before you use a sarcastic statement "Haba no be 28days again", Get your facts right.

You can actually work on concrete after 21days.

Let me shock you, concrete actually dries up and sets within 14 - 24hrs. Before it begins it's curing process in phases. Have you asked yourself why we commence Lintel leveling immediately after concrete work and proceed to do decking formwork? Would you say the concrete is not dry? I chose my words adequately in making statement.

You can actually commence work on Decking 3 Days after decking concrete is completed on the condition that all the props MUST be attached under the decking for a period of 1 month or more depending on the size of the decking.

We are not claiming what we don't know or practice, however, it is important to ask questions with the view to know or understand, and not to mock someone.

Thanks very much, as I hope that the information I just provided for you, gives you a new lead in understanding concrete and Decking stages and how it works.

Above all, no one is an island of knowledge...

Thank you as you continue to follow our page and have engaging discussions like this both now and in the future. Indeed it was a whole massive Decking work we did here... Going by the square meters and the materials used.

Mocking or sarcasm was not my intention just some clarification on what has generally been stated here as standard.

I will try to keep my opinion to myself so as not to cause offence as I don’t think I have followed your project before and you are too sensitive for me.

I do know the cause of your irritation na the 8 to 9 ton iron matter.

I do appreciate your work and the speed of it all. Have a good day.
