Oga, increase police salary across the country.

You cannot be paying these people peanuts and expect the best from them.

At this point, every institution in Nigeria should be enterprising and looking for legit avenues to generate money. We all cannot depend on oil and gas and government taxes to survive.

Nigerian police should have functional nursery, primary, secondary and tertiary schools as a way of generating funds for the force.

We just have people who cannot think in sensitive positions in this country.

Talking about oil & gas, the government also generate revenue from mining and infact they have kept it discreet because it's the business of the cartels. Nigeria has gold, lead, manganese, copper, zinc and good rich stones. It's well

another product of nepotism grin

can anything good ever comes out from nepotism and lopsided appointments?
can a convicted drug pusher ever mean well for the society?
can a man with zero character ever represent us well?
are the international communities not laughing at us that we have a drug pusher as a president to lead 200m plus citizens?

this and many more questions in the mind of Not-Prophet

Does the IGP have the unilateral power to increase police salaries? From which budget?

If you like pay police 2 million per month, they will still not shun corruption and extortion.

Do it first before you conclude.

Our leaders know that our police cannot function without corruption as it is because the institution is terribly funded. That's why their corruption is institutional.

Yes, IGP knows that his boys collect bribes but his hands are tied because you cannot arm a man, pay him less than 100k, and not expect him to abuse his power.
