We Want A NIGERIAN On The MOON By 2040, Latest

India got independence in 1947, so they are a bit ahead of us in terms of technology, hence their recent moon landing.

But we are catching up.

Most importantly, we have the manpower to pull this off.

We have capable Nigerian scientists at the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Abuja, and also numerous Nigerian scientists working at various space agencies all over the world, including NASA.

Nigerian scientists have built satellites which have been launched into space, and are currently hovering the Earth in outer space.

Fully designed and built by Nigerians.

''NASRDA has, over the years, shown a pivotal role in its deployment of expertise in the design, building and launch of Nigerian satellites. These include NigeriaSat -1, NigeriaSat–2, NigComSat-1R and most importantly, the NigeriaSat-X, which was designed and built to flight standard by Nigerian engineers and scientists.''

So Nigeria is a notable player in the Space Industry.

Certainly right up there among the African nations.

We must take the next leap, and PUT A NIGERIAN ON THE MOON.

Space Launch. Oct 1st 2037, Abuja Nigeria

What makes you think it can’t be done?

India has the same developmental issues as Nigeria. They have bad roads and power cuts in India. Plus corruption.

But they still have that passion for technology.

That moon landing cost them just 74 million dollars.

It was done on the cheap, compared to the multi billion dollar US missions.

We don’t have to break the bank for this!

Some people from Benin can help us get there in less that that period. Let the federal government make the request and the whole world will know what we are capable of.

Before thinking of taking your papa to the utopian moon, please fix electricity and road and stabilize the naira. Those are the most important things at this time.

It's even funny that these basic things have always been Nigeria's problems since independence and one nonentity is here talking about one moon shuttle.

Why not?

All they need to do is fund the space agency and give them a deadline to launch.

If we get a president who wants to do it, we’ll do it.

Absolute nonsense.

If India had waited to fix all their roads and power supply issues, they would not have achieved the moon landing.

Development is not linear.

You must simultaneously build your infrastructure and your technological capacity.

It is VILLAGE MENTALITY that says “let us fix A and B before we can do C.”

Oga, stop comparing India with Nigeria. That's an insult to those guys. We are talking about a people with a GDP of over $3 trillion.

Go and fix basic infrastructure and stop talking about your utopian moon. Tomorrow, we will hear that they parked the rocket somewhere. This is the only country that parks satellites and rockets. Just before you argue because you still bathe outside naked when that happened, read this:
https://www.reuters.com/article/nigeria-satellite-idUSLC73901520081112

“After looking at the options we decided that the best thing to do was to park it, like you park a car,” Zaku said.

PS: I won't reply you again.

If that man is your uncle, tell him to go and fix basic electricity. We should stop importing generators and enriching Mikano. That is more important.

I just laugh when comparing India advancement or edge over Nigeria based on year of independence alone

They never bother to think of Indigenous religion and writing systems that is over 1,000 years. Imagine the information and education passed from generation to generation. Their magnificent temples still standing till date were built centuries before colonisatiion by local architects and engineers

Nigeria’s GDP is 1.15 TRILLION DOLLARS calculated by Purchasing Power Parity (PPP).

It is proportionally higher than India’s, considering they have a 1.4 billion population, more than all Africa (1.2 billion).

So money is not the issue.

And India has not “fixed basic infrastructure”.

Go on Google Earth and view their cities.

They just look like Naija.

Truth is it will take DECADES to “fix basic infrastructure” in Nigeria, even if we are ruled by saints.

220 million population is no joke. A LOT still needs to be built.

We cannot be waiting to complete the task of development while the world leaves us behind in TECHNOLOGY.

India understood this.

So should we.

It is an INSULT to elevate Indian history and civilisation over that of Africa, the Cradle of Civilisation.

Black Africans invented speech, writing, mathematics, the sciences, arts, medicine, laws, architecture, philosophy, and religion.

Black Africans founded the FIRST empires and kingdoms in India, and ruled for thousands of years before eventually succumbing to Aryan invasions from the north.

It is why southern Indians are brown/black and northern Indians light skinned.

That the colonialists destroyed and burned down our great cities and monuments doesn’t mean we lacked “magnificent temples”.

We are the HOME of magnificent structures.

There are over 220 pyramids in Sudan. More than the number in Egypt.

Egypt itself was Black African in antiquity, and was the ‘USA’ of the world for thousands of years.

Where is our writing systems? Destroyed

They did not experience 500 years of Atlantic slave trade. Uninterrupted indigenous development

Where is Nigeria Map 200 years ago

No coup since independence

The Nehru-Ghandi family were in Power for over 30 years. Imagine the stability that comes with policies when power don't often change hands

How many millions are lifted from poverty each year compared to Nigeria

Are we still in the same league?

Where is our writing systems?

African writing systems are numerous, and include the Hieroglyphs of Kemet, the Nubian Script, also known as the Meroitic Script, Nsibidi Script, Ajami Script, Ethiopic Script, and many others.

They did not experience 500 years of Atlantic slave trade.

The Europeans actually started by enslaving Indians. They proved unprofitable as they lacked the mental resilience and physical strength required. Then they switched to Africans.

But that history should not prevent us from progress.

All irrelevant.

India’s space program started decades ago when mass poverty was rife.

Stop using that as an excuse. That moon landing cost them 74 million dollars.

Is that not chicken change for one politician to pocket and clean mouth?

We also underestimate the PR benefits of such an achievement in terms of positioning of the country in the comity of nations.

Such an achievement tells investors that this is a country that is technologically savvy, and worth investing in, and partnering with, in further technological ventures.

It will also be a massive RACIAL statement on the technological capacity and progress of the black race in the modern era.

We must do it.
