Tax Collection: Lagos Govt To Drop Tinubu’s Firm, Others

THE Lagos State government and Alpha Beta, a company owned by former  governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Tinubu, may be heading for a showdown, as the government plots to withdraw its service from the company.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Taxation and Revenue, Mr Bola Shodipo, revealed this at a forum with members of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Ikeja branch, led by its chairman, Isaac Ade-Agoye, on Thursday.

He said the state government would, from next year, do away with the revenue/tax consultancy system.

“The consultants have outlived their usefulness and their services, therefore, may no longer be required from 2012,” he said.

The private revenue/tax consultants were introduced by Senator Tinubu, who is alleged to have the biggest share in a consultancy firm, Alpha Beta.

From 2008, the reform had led to a rise in the internally generated revenue (IGR) of the state from about N6 billion to N10 billion the following year, with the state IGR currently fluctuating between N18 billion and N20 billion monthly,

What if LSG is dropping the known Tinubu firm for another proxy Tinubu firm?
Don't rejoice first until you know the firm taking over.

Abi o. The more you look the less you see. Chicago wonder.

I wonder if they'll also stop paying the N4.5 billion per month they've been paying to LCC, another arm of the Tinubu Conglomerate, since 3rd August, 2010?

It is not just stopping his past activities in pilfering the people's hard earned money should be investigated.

A full statistics of how much he has collected from the word go and how the monies have been distributed should be made public for the people to see.You don't just sweep fundamental issues like this under the carpet

Tinubu has come out times without number to say that he is not the owner of alpha beta. He said anyone that has doubt should check the CAC. So before accusing Tinubu of anything, show us proof that he is the owner.

Re: Lagos Govt To Stop Services With Tinubu’s Firm by atiku07(m): 5:21pm On Oct 16, 2011
Well comming from tribune am not moved cause tribune had proved times without number dat they are anti tinubu. How many times will tinubu say he does not have a stake in ABC, well secondly stopping the firm without proper training of de state IRS would be a suicidal attempt for de state government and it will amount to been back to square 1 in lagos state considering de amount of developmental projects going on. I will tell u tribune has long lost it status as an unbiased newspaper they have become tool of smear campaign for PDP against their biggest enemy ACN watchout notin will come out of dis.

How does this affect those of us in Ekiti state?

And how will it affect ACN in general? ACN is here to stay.

Just admit that you enjoy suffering under PDP, even tho una are trying to escape its wrath.

With the way Obj and his likes are behaving, I doubt Fashola or any ACN govt will decamp to PDP.

So hows Tinubu's trial going, btw? Let's not forget about that one.

Abi you no know what a PROXY or PROXZY is? His name may not be on that CAC form but he may also be the one fronting the company.
