Having had series of encounter with westerners i can pretty much tell how their law works and how they think. Even if he had a court wedding in Nigeria and his wife fly over to the US with the marriage certificate the Canadian government will still not do anything, they will rule that the first marriage happened out of forceful compulsion. The westerners do not think like we do here in Africa, that i can tell you or sure.

Wrong! To prove you are married to anyone outside of the circle of friends and relatives you have, you have to present a document. That document you can only obtain if your marriage is in fact registered at the courts. That is the same document that most embassies request from you to prove your marital status when attempting to obtain a visa or any other document. If your traditional marriage is not registered in the courts in Nigeria, it is not considered legal.

however, I must disagree with you about what you seem to think their motive is for the "excess support''.
you see, there is a robust opposition from a good amount of westerners against the agenda.
however, they believe that immigrants from Africa and other poor third world country would be a good and willing tool because of the desperation. that is why they support and look the other way when it comes to issues like this.
there are many hopeless cases that needs asylum or support faster than these, but they make these top priority.

and you can be rest assured that they do make judgement based on emotions when it comes to being racist. that is the reason for so many innocent black men all over American prisons.
American judges tend to be lenient with white offenders and go hard on black offenders for the same crime, now if that is not making judgment on emotions, then I don't know what it is.
