A popular African adage says, "you can't see your neighbor's house burning and then go to sleep."

Africa has since being enslaved not by a foreign race, but by her siblings - in the guise of civilian rule. Many have become entrenched in this crime against humanity simply as a result of what they stand to gain.

There is nothing new under the son, so we will take a little peep into history.

The french revolution took place for many reasons.
The causes of the French Revolution can be narrowed to five main factors: the Estate System, absolutism, Enlightenment ideas, food shortages, and the American Revolution. Some of these things are sparking coups in Africa as we speak.

The European revolution of 1848 was like wildfire due to two reasons: political crises and economic crises. Simply put: people were tired of the monarchy system of government. When the Germans saw the success of the French revolution, they too took cue and brought about the German revolution. Does this sound familiar

Let's go further, the Russian revolution of 1905 & 1917 was as a result of the poor economic decisions and leadership of Tsars especially Nicholas.

We can go all and on, one thing is certain, if there are no evidential changes in Africa, there will be more coups and like Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, and now Gabon, Nigeria may be next alongside Equitorial Guinea, Togo and Cameroon.

You hissed because the bitter truth was spoken. The outsed president also hissed when the people complained about being gagged against their will. He shut off foreign observers, shut down internet services and many more, what were you expecting would happen?

Kindly do not narrow your perspective. Trump almost started a revolution in the United States of America and till today the momentum towards it's achievement is still high.

Politics was never you cup of Tea

Donald Trumps wanted to Selfishly destroy the US Government

That is insurrection

US wouldn't have over 200 years of Democracy if every Election looser tried to stage a Coup

Trump's case isnt akin to the plight of Africa. The rule of law in America is sacrosanct, but not much can be said about that of Africa. All of these won't be in view, if there was equity and justice.

Exactly

You cannot be allowed to be calling for Coup because your own Candidate lost the Elections

Awolowo lost at least 4 Presidential Elections and never called for a Coup because of it

Loosing elections is part of Democracy and till today Awolowo has the most lasting Political Legacy among his people

Even those born after he passed on know what he represented

Trying to make the usual excuses for your Lords. Let me tell you something. If you have ever lived in the United States of America or have frequently traveled to that country, that is when you will realize that there is nothing special about that country. All I see is the weakness of human's which is the disease called GREED.

The Nigeria of then is a different one from the entity we call Nigeria today. Fairness existed even amongst the corrupt clime of the nation back then. Not much can be said today. If Awolowo had contested today, he would have been rigged out fair and square and asked to go to court.

Wike rigged election for Tinubu in River state and was rewarded with Minister of Abuja.
We know what ElRufai and his colleagues did in the North.

Why are we tolerating this in Nigeria.
How did we get here?

The next protest in Nigeria will be in front of Defense headquarter and all military barracks across the country.
All these few recycled politicians recolonizing Nigerians economically must end.

Enough is enough.

If Africa was a nuclear family, the members of the family will ask this all but important question: Why are we poor??

You are very pathetic 😂 probably foolish student of history. How do you compare revolution of 1848 1905 n 1917 or are you Igbo because that is what it takes to reason this shabbily.

Actually I brought up America into this thread to broaden our perspective. Well let me make a focal point and which is France. The countries being taken over by the military are Francophone countries. Doesn't it boil down to the inefficiency of their Young President who is unable to manage the French empire?

You called them revolutions but couldn't see anything they have in common. 🧐

I am sure you are here to defend someone; otherwise you can see that they were all intertwined.

Do they call for coup like it's a 'refrain in an unsung chorus'? Instead of praying the authoritarian democrazy that has brought more anguish and sorrow to the masses doesn't continue.

Are we talking about losing elections or rape of democracy and bastardization of critical institution?. Please, remind me again what's the meaning of democracy when the people can't elect their leaders?

BTW! Do you know the 'glitch alluded to by INEC for an election that billions were allocated is sufficient grounds for insurrection in civilised democracies? When you see people celebrating a military Coup, know that the animals in civilian leadership thought they could get away with anything.

A Coup won't happen because of online hysteria. It would happen when leaders fail to learn from history.

You just confirmed you are indeed an exceedingly foolish soul.

We're you not in Nigeria when MKO won an election n was murdered with the help onlf of Aurther Nzeribe an Igbo man who got injuction to anulled the election ?!

We're you also dead when Yardua declared a fraudulent election brought him in ?!

You pointed out the Main issue = THE FRENCH EMPIRE.

France shouldn't be ran as an empire. The truth be told: they are more hostile to their past colonies than they are friendly. Democracy as practiced by her founders is just another hoax to enslave sovereign nations.

The impunity of today can't be compared to any democratic era. I am not Igbo as you may think, and we are not having a tribal context.

If you go through human history, unless we want to tell ourselves lies. That is what you will find. Humans oppressing one another. Those who fight for freedom are only also looking for opportunities to exploit others once they get power.

This is highly factual. Economic and political policies are not some kind of funfair game people play to maim oppositions. People do actually bear the brunt and burdens of these wicked acts. And this why Nigeria is already a breeding ground for a coup, if there are no positive refrains.
