A petition requesting fairness and transparency in the ongoing hearings before the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has received at least 100 signatures from Nigerians.

This is coming at a time when the tribunal is set to deliver the final judgement in a petition against President Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Atiku Abubakar, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, and Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) candidate, contested Tinubu’s victory in the presidential election held on February 25, 2023.

The Coalition of Concerned Nigerians (CCN) started the petition, which is addressed to a number of justices and reveals the frustrations and concerns that a sizable percentage of the population is experiencing.

The petition addressed to Hon. Justice Haruna Tsammani, reads: “We, the Coalition of Concerned Nigerians (CCN), write to you today with a deep sense of responsibility and a firm belief in the sanctity of justice.

“As the lead Judge of the esteemed panel of Judges entrusted with the critical task of adjudicating the 2023 presidential election petition, we implore you to honour and strictly abide by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to which you have all solemnly sworn allegiance.

“At this pivotal time in Nigeria’s history, we call upon you to prioritize the welfare and interests of our great nation above any individual concerns.

“Nigeria stands at a watershed at this moment, where citizens from all corners of our diverse nation have united to safeguard our democracy through free, fair, and credible elections. We trust in your wisdom and impartiality to recognize the gravity of this moment.

“It is crucial to note that invited and accredited election observers, such as the European Union mission, have presented detailed reports highlighting numerous aberrations before, during and after the elections.

“These reports, along with other substantial evidence, have been diligently presented before this tribunal. We beseech you to consider these vital pieces of evidence and apply the law with the utmost objectivity and fairness.

“The judiciary holds the sacred responsibility of being the last hope of the common man. Nigerians at home and abroad anxiously look forward to you for justice in this unprecedented and distinct election.

“Your decisions will profoundly impact the course of our nation’s future. This is a golden opportunity for each of you to etch your names in the annals of Nigerian history by upholding the principles of justice and equity.

“In the words of Martin Luther King Jr., “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” As guardians of justice, we implore you to recognize the profound importance of your role and the impact it has on our society as a whole.

“By delivering a just and unbiased verdict, you will not only uphold the principles of justice but also inspire faith and confidence in our judiciary. Justice delayed is justice denied. Let us unite in our pursuit of a Nigeria where justice prevails, and democracy thrives.”

The dishonourable injustices of the tribunal should not try to use technicalities to help Tinubu this time around because it may backfire. Look at Niger, look at Gabon. The era of technicality over logic and merit is gone.

Beautifully written prose, unfortunately they’re preaching to the choir! If ona like take money and judge as you like, Africa is tired of her corrupt & unconstitutionally selected leaders and is beginning to do more than just complaints.

100 ibos you mean?

At this very stage, the scam of using one Nigeria by ibos to masked their penchant hatreds of Yorubas must end.

Military coup? Bring it on, you bumbling cowards. You think you can bully everyone to power? Not gonna happen because we are watching the display of your bitterness and vitriol against Yorubas. Like I said, bring it on you unfortunate tool.

Zamfara and Bayelsa also got APC leaving power to PDP

Revolution is already on the horizon for ibos hence we now see how all southeastern states are literally empty and all the economic refugees have migrated to other states basically to south western states.

No one is buying into your one Nigeria scam, a scheme created to force ibo man on everyone. Peter Gringory Obi, a loser that came distant third during the last election cannot be president and no amount of wailing or bullying can change it. If you guys wanna go down the rabbit hole of lunacy then be my guess I suggest. Let's go!!

Bunch of clowns. What they want in reality is not justice but miscarriage of Justice. Only people with demented brains will want the court to give victory to a candidate that came a distant third.
