In a dazzling display of military discipline, precision and unity, the 2023 Batch B Stream 2 Corps Members participated in an Inter-Platoon Drills Competition, with Platoon 10 emerging as the victors. The event not only showcased the exceptional drill skills of the platoons but also emphasized the importance of unity in a diverse nation.

Major John Itodo, Camp Commandant, in his address explained the significance of the drills, highlighting their role in fostering unity among individuals from various backgrounds. He spoke about how these drills contribute to cohesion in our diverse, multi-tribal, and multi-linguistic nation. Moreso, that the drills strengthens resilience and vigor in the face of adversity.

Beginning the event, the judges, comprising four distinguished high-ranking military officers, were invited to initiate the drill competition. And with a meticulous eye, the judges commenced their inspection of the ten platoons, witnessing a remarkable display of military choreography, observing their synchronized movements and impeccable formations. As part of the inspection process, the platoon guard commanders, having undergone intensive training over the past two weeks, introduced their units to the judges.

At the end of the competition which was sponsored by the Commander Engineering Construction Command Nigeria Army, Ede, Brig. Gen. KF Suleiman, Platoon 10 claimed the 1st position with 61.15 points, followed by Platoon 4 in 2nd place with 58.75 points and Platoon 5 in 3rd place with 57.18 points. The remaining platoons achieved the following rankings: Platoon 2 (4th), Platoon 7 (5th), Platoon 1 (6th), Platoon 3 (7th), Platoon 6 (8th), Platoon 9 (9th), and Platoon 8 (10th).

Platoon 10 earned further recognition as SSGT Nuhu Saidu was named the Best Drill Instructor. Additionally, Lawrence Eko-owai from Platoon 10 (LA/6800) was acknowledged as the Best Commander of Batch B, Stream 2 Inter-Platoon Drills Competition. It is also important to mention that the Platoon that came last in this competition was given the customary Otondo Spoon for coming first from the rear.

The event witnessed the presence of the State Coordinator, Mr Agbor Ndoma, the Camp Director, Mr Aleshinloye Adeniyi and other Heads of Assignments and Heads of collaborating agencies. The event was judged by Lt. AA Ajewole; Lt II Alayande; Lt OD Adokuru; Lt Pofi.
