President Bola Tinubu has recalled Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK), Sarafa Isola. The reason for his recall is not known yet, but it signals the end of his tenure as Nigeria’s ambassador to the UK. He was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari in January 2021 and served as the minister for mines and steel development under the late former President Musa Yar’Adua. The letter of recall was issued by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, on Thursday, August 31. It asked Mr. Isola to return to Nigeria within 60 days and by October 31, 2023 at the latest. Mr. Tuggar thanked Mr. Isola for his service and wished him well in his future endeavours.
