IbileIfe:
Bitter lemons are not sweet potatoes.
But they have more health benefits in the long term.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may not be a saint, but from his common sense transformation of Lagos State when he was the Governor for eight years which was highly commended by the New York Times, the Economist, World Economic Forum and the World Bank as Lagos turned the corner and became the 5th biggest economy in Africa, twice the economy of Kenya and Cote de Voire, he has shown that he can also be the champion for the nation building of a New Nigeria in the leadership of Africa among the comity of nations in the world.

This is the reason why some of us are not comfortable with his policy, it directed to satisfy world bank, imf and other international bodies. Secondly, tell me, is there any ingenuity he has brought to governance in Lagos other than high burden of tax, that led to increase in internally generated revenue. This is even achieved with masse suffering under him, at the end, they take it to private organisation who has been sharing it with government. So I don't see what he did that Baba Jakande of blessed memory have not done. Unless I can be convinced with other superior argument, apart from internally generated income. We have even seen it now with another tax reform committee.

This is typical parochial thinking and retarded mind, if it favours you because you have collected bribe or enjoy government patronage, what of millions of people who are languishing in poverty, or is tinubu government meant only for corrupt people like you.

Just above average.

Personally it is a battle between expectations and reality.

Expectations like the promise of radical reforms in the order of restructuring the state which is fundamental to the survival of this country, nothing yet.

Because the reality is that it is not people driven. And the people cannot drive a process if they are not united in their desire to better the country, to save the country.

So like the previous regime it is safe to predict that results will be average and gains largely superficial by the end of the tenure of this regime.

One thing is certain, Tinubu first 100days in office came with a renewed hope for many Nigerians.
But the price is a bit unbearable for people, the inflation is too high for a minimum wage earner.

Don't forget to tell your gaulibles audiences that :
-we have not been Producing anything, since the Discovery of Crude Oil - God given Natural Resources but our Leaders- including the Governos, National Assembly Members Senators and House of Reps and the State Assembly Members are Corrupt and lazy to give Nigeria a New life.
- this Single Product have been abundantly Stolen by Our Leaders ( both Army and Civilians) and we all have been enjoying the Stolen Wealth - without complaining, even the NLC people and their footsoldiers.
- that now the Tinubu's Administration has gone to the Roots of the Problems to Stop the Stealing by cutting off the Illegal Routes and now the people still want the Subsidies because they are not used to serious Hardwork and where they do temp to alter the situation, they complain of hardships!
-With PortHarcourt Refinery being repaired and hopefully by Dec,2023,things - especially the Prices of Fuel would go down!
- Investors are having Confidence in Nigeria Economy.
- We cannot continue to Borrow to Eat,we must Produce at least 60% of our items locally!
God bless Nigeria

I don't understand. You said it's like...... and your also said it's a good quality. How is something you're not sure of a good quality

Judging from his actions, one can easily tell that the president listens to the people.. whether he is the one directly reading opinions or his aides and advisers, I do not know but one thing is clear, it's something to commend.

Its very insensitive and irresponsible for Government to implement policies that are detrimental and inhumane to her citizens without providing alternative that will cushion the effect.

Fuel subsidy removal. Astronomical increase in petrol price, almost X4 of its formal price. Nothing was done to ease the pains and suffering.

Increased Electricity tariff by 40%

High foreign exchange rate almost doubled compared to previous regime.

Increased in Federal University and polytechnic tuition fees by 1000% from #21,000 to #250,000

Inflation bitting hard on every sector of the economy.

Sometimes I think these policiies are intentional so that they can impoverishand control people. Poverty is one of the biggest tool Government use most especially in Africa to subdue the masses.
