I remember the days of peaceful Biafran protest, when young men and women only thronged the streets, asking for Biafra, asking for referendum

What did the authorities do? They opened fire, killing unarmed protesters. Nigerians cheered at this blatant act of killing and murder by their security forces and urged them to kill more, that the unity of Nigeria was sacrosanct

People like me warned that this would lead to armed confrontation, nobody listened. The the government declared opration python dance against IPOB, an unarmed organisation at the time that touched nobody. The security forces killed many people, invaded Kanu's house to kill him, and declared IPOB a terrorist organisation. How can you declare an unarmed organisation that touched nobody, a terrorist group?

Today, peaceful protest has gone, and armed violence has replaced it. Very unfortunate, but thats Nigeria for you, a country where everyone is only interested in increasing violence, and not promoting peace.

Those who make peaceful agitation impossible, will make violent agitation inevitable ~ JFK
