How to sit with Christ in heavenly places

It takes great faith to believe that Christians are “sitting with Christ in heavenly places.” The bible says it and the duty of the believer is to appropriate this blessing.

This divine truth is captured in Ephesians 2:1-6 “Even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved). And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. And raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”

This is the true position of all believers and this can be better understood by believing. The word of God must be priced above circumstantial evidence. Suspend your disbelief and appropriate the scriptures, as God’s unchangeable words.

Ephesians 2:13-19 gives more insight about this positional status. “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.”

Due to ignorance and inadequate teaching, many children of God act, as if the devil is the master. Beloved brethren, perish this vile thought. Begin to imagine your heavenly position, as one sitting in Christ in heavenly places above principalities and powers. With time, the reality of your new knowledge and faith will overwhelm every fear of the devil and the world.

You will become undefeatable and a big terror to Satan and his demons. Take time and meditate on the above scriptures, so that you can truly be armed to exercise your authority in Christ. Prayerfully ask the Holy Spirit, the great teacher and revealer of all truth, “to enlighten the eyes of your understanding,” so that you can grab this biblical truth.
