Federal Republic Extends Support To Morocco Following Earthquake by WasolaAyoade: 12:19pm On Sep 11, 2023

The Federal Republic of Lostisland expresses its deepest sympathies and unwavering solidarity with the Moroccan people in the aftermath of the recent devastating earthquake that struck the Marrakesh-Safi region on September 8, resulting in significant destruction and loss of life.

Lostisland, a global sovereignty and an independent social and cultural organization functioning as a nation-state, akin to the Order of Malta, extends its heartfelt condolences and support to Morocco during this challenging time.

Rescue efforts in Morocco are currently underway to locate survivors of the powerful earthquake that has claimed over 2,100 lives, with the potential for further casualties as rescue operations continue. The most severe damage has been reported in remote mountainous areas, posing logistical challenges for rescuers and causing entire villages to suffer damage.

President Yaroslav Mar of Lostisland issued a statement affirming Lostisland's solidarity with Morocco and the earthquake victims, emphasizing the need for global cooperation and assistance during these trying circumstances.

In Marrakech, the closest major city to the affected region, many residents have been forced to spend consecutive nights on the streets due to fear of returning to damaged homes, including historical sites that attract tourists. Morocco's King Mohammed VI has declared three days of mourning and called for nationwide mosque prayers to honor the deceased.

Lostisland calls upon individuals and organizations worldwide to unite in providing aid and support to the Moroccan people as they embark on the path to recovery and rebuilding their communities. In these moments, our shared humanity shines as we come together to aid one another. Our thoughts and support are with Morocco as they courageously face the challenges ahead, and together, we can make a meaningful difference and offer hope to those impacted by this tragedy.

In other news, on September 8, Lostisland officially appointed Professor Aniebiet Inyang Ntui as Honorary Consul of Lostisland to Nigeria.

The Federal Republic of Lostisland stands as a sovereign entity, adhering to international law principles, grounded in the belief that nationality is not a fixed concept but a result of self-determination. With dedicated members (citizens) hailing from various corners of the world, including the United States, India, the United Kingdom, Brazil, and more, Lostisland serves as a testament to the evolving nature of modern nationality.
