Anytime the West feels threatened, they start sending their puppets to strengthen imaginary ties. It happened immediately after we announced a currency-swap deal with China. Now, the latest threat to their selfish interests in Africa is BRICS. They want to keep this nation as perpetual slaves, if it's not IMF doing their bidding, it will be someone else. SA and other countries are fast realising their true potentials through mutual respect, but here we are celebrating the visit of a public servant.

The only problem I see is that Republicans in the US Congress will try and block anything that requires their approval.

The US government has been impressed with Mr Tinubu's free market agenda and see him as someone they can work with. This contrasts with South Africa 's socialist (pro Russia) tendencies.

The US also needs Nigeria to be on their side in the quest for influence in Africa, and so, I expect the US will reward Nigeria with favourable policies for not joining Brics.

Kids shouting from the roof tops that Nigeria should join Brics just don't understand international politics.

Reason I prefare Nigeria not joining BRICS.

Nigeria stance over the Niger issues with strong commitment Tinubu has shown towards democracy is a plus.

Knowing the importance of Nigeria in projecting US influence over Africa with the tilting of Tinubu administration towards the west, US would want to strengthen its cooperation, economically and strategically towards us.

The sustainability of this depends on Biden winning he's second term as Trumps American first policies can erode any gain.

That's not all, the mere fact that Tinubu sends his vice to gatherings where the BRICS countries meet while he attends the one Biden and others meet speaks a lot about his free market policies and love for the WEST. Never been a fan of the WEST's political ideologies, but if it favours the country, then, so be it.
