Why should he?

Yoruba full the Congress of US and the Parliament of UK discussing law but they are overhyping one criminal woman who was heading one unknown organization and who also stole money while she was in Nigerian government just to massage their ego.
You shouldn't be like them, you were trained better.

Welcome in advance to your root,

Omoluabi atata. Hopefully that his official visit will be fruitful on mutual social respect and economy benefits for both Nigeria and US governments and peoples.

The US is not in the business of helping anybody but themselves. Their interest in Nigeria is occasioned by the sudden realisation that China in particular is gaining influence in countries they had abandoned economically. Particularly since the exit of George Bush Jr, the USA's interest in Africa is primarily military, so called human rights and "sustaining democracy". The last US president to do anything significant to assist the growth of Africa economically was George Bush with the AGOA act.

America is only interested in Nigeria because they know if they dont act others will gain a foothold and if indeed Nigeria is on an upward trajectory, they cant afford to be left behind and lose influence to the likes of China.

its not about Nigeria to them it's about China and other rising economic powers.
It's about soft-power and the application of self-interest which the governments of many advanced and developing countries are also guilty of.

I do not care whether he is our son or not. Nothing to celebrate except that he has made a name for himself and not into drugs or 419.

But be warned, he is coming to push American interest not African interest.

Yoruba are not hero worshippers.

Do not forget what Obama did in Libya.

i agree, I just wish Nigerians would stop seeing the US as our friends or saviours and stop licking their asses or masturbating to any news of western leaders embracing Nigeria. they are not doing it to help us. They effectively abandoned us ever since the shale revolution and they became self sufficient in oil production. that should teach us a lesson.

Nigerians need to understand these guys do not want our progress. They dont want the progress of anyone but themselves.

2 good examples

1. The EPl has suceeded by destroying football leagues all over the world particularly Africa who shares the same time zone. As soon as the Saudi league auches an attempt to grow their own league they cry foul but theyve been stealing other countries best players and viewers for the last 2 or 3 decades.

2. USA had no problem with China when China was a country to subcontarct labour for cheap products and their homemade products were inferior quality. Now that the Chinese are competing with them for car, semi conductors, planes lithium batteries etc, they are crying foul and want to sanction or hit anything Chinese with tarrifs. Same thing with germany, only today they announced they have a problem with the flood of chinese EV that will soon start flooding the German and EU market...when they were flooding china with German and European cars they had no problem.

Point is contrary to the slave mindset of many Nigerian western larkeys, they dont want our progress and they will do anything to keep us depending on them, it is not in their interests for us to be self sufficient talk less developed and industrialised. I just wish the average Nigerian would start thinking in terms of what is best fior Nigeria instead of thinking the slave masters have any benefit or interest in helping him.

This is very interesting.

I get the feeling the US will help Nigeria whereever they can, that is why they are sending their Deputy Finance Minister. Make no mistake, this is about the economy.

The only problem I see is that Republicans in the US Congress will try and block anything that requires their approval.

The US government has been impressed with Mr Tinubu's free market agenda and see him as someone they can work with. This contrasts with South Africa 's socialist (pro Russia) tendencies.

The US also needs Nigeria to be on their side in the quest for influence in Africa, and so, I expect the US will reward Nigeria with favourable policies for not joining Brics.

Kids shouting from the roof tops that Nigeria should join Brics just don't understand international politics.

You go to where your bread will be buttered. In the present world order, the butter is in the US's hands.

Can you give me an example of what benefit Nigeria and Nigerians have benefitted from ties with the united states since time immemorial?
Russians are not the bad guys, they have been strongly villainized by the powers that wield the machineries of media. The earlier you know that the US cares about no one, the better for you. Even China as communist as they are, have done more for Africa then the entire western blocks combined together.

Ibadan born and America raised. Don't let anyone tell you that school is a scam. The dude is very educated.

Receiving a good education from prestigious or elite schools where you truly learn is invaluable and can truly set one apart in life. Just look at Adebayo Ogunlesi. However, attending a mediocre university or a degree mill can be a waste of time, although not always, as some individuals who even attended mediocre universities have achieved extraordinary things.
