Don't you see that you are not making any sense. The same yardstick you use to measure others if it's applied to you will you happily embrace it? I can't even find a matching word to define you and your reasoning, and I don't want to call you a slowpoke but....

You are the victim of moronic plague here. If my tribe had adopted Jonathan as their son despite the fact that they knew he was truly not, then I will blame them for whatever consequences it brings to them. Igbos have a chameleonic attitude and always want to have it both ways. You can't eat your cake and still have it. If I may ask you, which other region apart from the SE called Jonathan their adopted political son? None of them did so because they knew the implication it will have on them in the power equation. Only you Igbos take such short sighted positions on issues and sooner or later it boomerangs and the next thing is victim card play.

That's nonsense.
Igbos adopted and welcomed OBJ too.
You have an "eveel" heart.
Why is it only Igbos that keep adopting every politician as their son? After adopting OBJ for promising to hand over power to an Igbo man but later disappointed you and picked a Fulani man together with an Ijaw man, wasn't that enough for you to stop your stupid adoption of other tribes' sons? You also adopted Yaradua a Fulani man. You think the other five regions are evil and foolish for not ever adopting a candidate not truly from their region? You Igbos are too frivolous and emotional hence always take stupid decisions which when they begin to boomerang, rather than admit your folly, you are resort to victim card play and term all other regions evil people as if there is any form of godliness in your own shortsightedness and frivolity. Continue adopting other regions' candidates and be deluding yourself as being godly. The truth is that Igbos are politically immature and unrealistic.

Igbo people have been practising the democratic process for more than a thousand years. Yoruba and Hausa are feudal peoples. How can you call Igbo people politically immature, when they have the longest experience with this process?

You don't see Igbo people giving out block votes, based on frivolous things, such as tribe. Instead, they always vote for whomever is the best candidate on the ballet. Yoruba and Hausa people are not there yet, but eventually, hopefully, with time, education and evolution of culture, they will get there. So that we can have good leaders in Nigeria, and not thieves and tribal champions like Tinubu and Buhari.

And the Tafawa Balewa you voted for at a time as critical as independence was the best on the ballot right? He was better than Awolowo and your own very well read Zik who were equally on the ballot right?

Then the Feudalist product Shagari whom you voted for in 1979 was the best in an election which your own cerebral Ojukwu contested.

Then the barely educated Alhaji Bashir Tofa you voted for in 1993 was the best over MKO a first class Accountancy graduate of the prestigious University of Glasgow?

Then the ex-convict Obasanjo whose stint as military HOS contributed immensely to the Nigerian tragedy was was the best candidate over the seasoned and unblemished technocrat Olu Falae who brandished a manifesto that would have industrialized Nigeria within fifteen years?

Why not look the way of comedy? In fact why are you just wasting your comedy talents on Nairaland while the likes of I go die and Teju Baby face are smiling to the banks daily with millions they rake in from their jokes which are no match for yours?

If Igbos so much believe in democracy that they had been practising it for years as you claim, then how come the same Igbos were the first to truncate democracy in the history of Nigeria through the senseless January 15 1966 coup by which they shed so much blood of innocent politicians and military officers of other regions save theirs who were actually guilty of the very corruption they cited as the reason for the coup? So much for a democracy loving people. Hehehe.....

Igbos didn't vote for Balewa oga. Imagine the boldness in spilling fake information. I think it's time you learn your history. Zik was whom Ndigbo voted for both in the first Republic, and in the 2nd republic in1979. In 1983, Ndigbo shared their vote between Zik's NPP and Shagari's NPN with Zik racking the bigger percentage. In 1993, Ndigbo shared their votes between Tofa and Abiola with the former gaining 55% and the later 45%.

Then in 1999, Ndigbo voted for Obasanjo's PDP, then Yar'adua, and GEJ till 2015.

So know your history and be humble in learning.

So which tribe from the south joined NPC MPs in voting for Balewa in the parliamentary in 1960?

Thank God you admit that Igbos shared their votes among NPP and NPN. How does that now change the fact that Shagari whom a part of Igbos voted for was the worst candidate on the ballot in that election?

In 1993 Tofa swept Igbo states clean. Google is your friend.

You agree you voted for Obasanjo in 1999. Now was Obasanjo the best candidate in the ballot going by the antecedents of all the contestants?

In 2007, was Yaradua the best candidate going by all the factors of determination?

Did Igbo people truncate Nigeria's democracy or did the military do it? The fact that they were led by an Igbo man is/was irrelevant. The military did what it felt right, to rescue the country from whatever plight they thought was enveloping the country at the time.

The actions of the coup leader is no more a reflection of Igbo people, than the countless coups that occurred afterwards, by primarily Northern military officers. I don't see anyone blaming the entirety of the North for the actions of a few opportunistic military figures. No, that treatment is only reserved for Igbo people, along with all the other rationalisations people like yourself have, for just being an outright dreadful human being.

Abiola had a chequered past, with ties to drug trafficking in the Americas. Obasanjo was better than that tribal champion you mentioned.

Yaradua was the only realistic candidate on the ballet, given the rotational system that was "supposedly" in motion. Though, that's all gone to crap with another Yoruba man emerging as president, and a tribal champion at that.

Abiola and drug trafficking? There is no pile of shit you lots can't cook up to rationalize your blunders.

Falae a tribal champion? Another pile of shit to defend another blunder. If anything, Obasanjo is actually the tribal champion for refusing to send soldiers to level Shagamu and Ota in his SW home when the natives murdered security men on duty after having done so in Odi and Zakibiam on the same excuse. But how would a typical Igbo man notice that when all that he is preoccupied with is sentiments?

The goal post has now shifted to 'most realistic' from the 'best'. Comedians.

How did you forget that the death of zoning started with Jonathan with you Igbos' active support? Going by the true spirit of the zoning, a Northerner was supposed to have completed Yaradua's remaining 5½ years but When Jonathan chose to violate it, it was you Igbos' voice that was loudest in arguing that zoning is not in the Nigerian constitution and that Jonathan had his fundamental right to seek office. But now that Tinubu too exercised that same right to seek office, you suddenly remember that zoning should have been adhered to because he is from an ethnic group you love to hate.

Rescue the nation from which plight? Didn't that rescuing end up in a civil war? Aren't people now of the opinion that Nigeria would have been better than it is today if that coup never happened? Why take power illegally for any excuse? The revenge coup was a Northern coup and those who carried it out don't deny that. Only you Igbos have refused to admit yours because you want to keep playing the victim card. The January 15 1966 coup is an Igbo coup because the pattern of the casualties and the eventual beneficiary revealed that there was a predetermined outcome aimed at elevating Igbos above other tribes by illegal means.

Always clever by half. Well, many of us who know your antecedents on Nairaland aren't disappointed with what you wrote because it was expected. Why should Ndigbo accept a coup planned and executed by the military as theirs? Perhaps, you're privy to information that we don't know, where Ndigbo held a meeting and asked the coupists to execute a coup on their behalf? Just read the gibberish you wrote and tell me if you're proud of such thoughts. You labeled the revenge counter-coup Northern coup and not Hausa/Fulani coup even when the main coup plotter Muritala Mohammed was an Hausa/Fulani from Kano, yet a coup led by Nzeogwu an Igbo from the Mid-West should be tagged Igbo and not southern coup. If middlebelters like Gowon, Danjuma etc participated in the revenge coup that made it Northern according to you, didn't other southerners like Ademoyega, Fola Oyewole etc not participants in the Southern coup that you now tag Igbo coup?

Perhaps, let me puncture your self bloated ego. You want Ndigbo to accept a coup, yet failed to tell us where the Hausa/Fulani accepted the revenge coup against Ironsi as an Hausa/Fulani sponsored coup? Tell us where the counter-coup sponsored by Gowon against Muritala was tagged a Berom/Kanke coup? What about the coup by Buhari, Babangida, Orkar and Abacha, have you tagged them by their tribes even when they were the main sponsors and beneficiaries?

Lastly, using that coup that happened over 50 years ago to justify the failed leadership of the country called Nigeria despite successive years of Hausa/Fulani and Yoruba dominated rule shows how myopic you are. So Ndigbo should remain the scapegoat for the failure of leadership at the center. If we agree that Ironsi with his military authoritarian rule in just few months in power made changes to the Nigerian constitution, what stops other successive military leaders with the more authority, jumbo bruteness and more years in power to revert the decree back to what it was.

This is 2024. Perhaps we can forgive you for being myopic in 2023, but when a person makes it a duty to be not just sentimental but parochial in matters that concern Ndigbo, then people have the right to start asking questions on the mental capacity and health of the individual in question.
