Mr Adeyemo are you too blind to see that there is parallel FX rate which is far more than the official rate?

That the so-called FX unification was a farce, a total fiasco

Finally, someone has said it as it is.

Investors are moved by macroeconomic indicators, not the visit and promise of a president that Nigeria is open for investments.

The cold truth. The way Nigeria is presently does business with China, Russia and the jetsams and flotsam in the world economy. US won't come ordinarily speaking.

Most of the comments show many Obidients/Antagonist of the government are simply shallow.

They didn't digest the points, just picked out the line that supports their agenda and went to town like kids given lollipop.
Hence why we call them Zombi-dients

Fact that some people will find so hard to come to term with.Nigeria's economy in embedded in consumption more than production even we carry our a larger percentage of crude oil abroad for refining and bring it back for use after expending so much in dollar on refining until we maintain a healthier balance of payment vis-a-vis balance of trade we going nowhere economically as a nation. The health of Nigerian currency is dependent on how much it exports and the inflows of investments and trade. In addition our economic/business policies must be such that attract FDI.

Very correct. We are highly underdeveloped in many Major sectors. Our business environment is generally not attractive except in essential sectors like telecoms, oil which is already well saturated bt those are the only sectors that can attract and and guarantee ROI and even oil is becoming unattractive.

Agric, manufacturing, tourism sector is zero and some of these sectors interconnect.

But the exchange rate hasn't been unified and the subsidy removal has caused more damage than good.

As long as there's a different FX rate from FG/CBN offering, then there's no unification. In terms of the subsidy removal, you will agree with me that Nigerians have become poorer and the cost of living is very high right now.

Let's be sincere with ourselves, please, and agree that Tinubu isn't making any tangible progress.

I knew it that those people went to India or whatever, to constitute nuisance. Until you make electricity so cheap, overflowing and uninterrupted for years, build standard roads, fight insecurity, fuel/gas found in your backyard available and affordable, and make loans available for businesses. No investors not even Nepalis will look your way.

No Electricity...national grid keep collapsing.
No good road
No security
No stable economy
Insurgency
Kidnapping
Inflation
Weak currency
Corruption
High cost of living etc...

How can you attract foreign investors without fixing must of this things, you will first fix your home before inviting visitors.

VeeVeeMyLuv:

Janet Yellen will be shocked to find that he believes that the rates were unified

Now let me redirect the question to you.

Do u really believe that the exchange rates were unified?

The rates on binance P2P is closing in on the 1000 mark.

Aboki BDC rate is 955

While official CBN rate 775! Does this looks like unified to you?

So between me and you now who is talking nonsense?

Well most of you have sold your souls, and no longer have conscience. So interacting with such characters as yours Is a mental torture, a futile misadventure, much like flogging a dead horse 🐎
rates may never be unified if the govt doesn't start having enough forex to meet every demand. As long as private hands are getting dollar via remittances and business deals, they will sell at their own rates, especially when they see huge demand and feel govt is suppressing the rates to help keep debt repayment favourable.
Until there is local refining of crude, we may never know the true direction we are headed. It is the only significant change that can bring about positive result as things stand now.
