The devil is indeed a manipulator; lots of people have been led astray by its convoluted wile. Vibrant and energetic people who are supposed to channel their strength into productive and meaningful ventures are often deluded into engaging in self-destructive activities. Also, many young men believe that they're invincible. This feeling is fueled by a number of factors such as; youthful spirit, strength, drugs, charms, belonging to dreadful group(s) etc. The feeling of invincibility has led to the tragic death of many. One of the major features of this caliber of people is unbridled arrogance; they carry themselves in such a manner that suggests that others who are not in the same page with them are sub-humans. On a regular basis, they disrespect those whom they're supposed to respect including their own elders and parents. It is only when they come to the end of the road that the veil covering their vision is lifted - by this time it's already late.

Such was the case of a young man who was arrested yesterday in connection with the gruesome murder of the late DPO Bako in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State. The young man who was seen in a picture that later flooded the social media space displaying a rifle and wearing a cow face was singing like a canary. With his hands firmly tied behind his back and a tyre around his midsection, he began to spill the beans. He vomited all he knows about the DPO's murder but never ceased to plead for mercy. The expression of 'I swear to the almighty God' was glued to his tongue - he seldom spoke without it. After all the hyperbolized ego, he realized that he is a mere mortal that is about to become a dead meat just like the DPO he and his partners killed.

Reality, obviously will dawn on all who choose to live in a fool's paradise. Whoever thinks he can challenge the might or strength of the state because he has been able to acquire a few automatic firearms should think again. No matter how strong a dog is, it can never challenge the lion to a duel. The day it tries it, it shall surely be destroyed.

As a youth, if your ego begins to bloat like a balloon, watch it, for it is about to burst and consume your head. A word is enough for the wise!
