That's official rate. The govt needs to flood the banks with dollar for the next three weeks to bring the black market rate to parity with official rate or ban the black market entirely make aboki go look for another work do.

I was about asking same myself

I thought the rate has already been unified. Which one is "black market" rate again?

Let's stick to one rate for goodness sake.

We have I&E window and official parallel market. The issue is that banks have refused to sell dollars to people that buy things internationally with their debit cards. So those people are left to buy from aboki, also all dollars used in trading crypto come from the aboki people too

It will still go down to like #725 to dollar in the official market (bank rate).

Those screaming #1000 are the ones happy with black market (unofficial rates).. The higher the exchange rate in black market, the more money they get not minding the adverse effects on our economy.

With new CBN policies, any transaction inflow or outflow in foreign denominations will be regulated.. the days of dollar speculators holding the country spell bound will soon be over

lol. I laugh at your ignorance.
Does cbn have dollar to give if I approach them and every other person does? No is the answer because they are struggling. The higher the black market rates, the more fx and dollar find themselves there. Until the BM is chocked and excess supply of dollar against demand manifests, it remains.

You can't ban the black market. The black market is basically the informal sale and purchase of forex.

If you stunt it, this simply drives the price of forex up. The issue isn't the black market. The problem is liquidity.

Too much grammar. Shortage of dollar in CBN's side.
