See I be Yoruba like you,and if things gets more worst this same people we are defending because of tribe won't save us they have all there family abroad. Let us leave tribe and face the main issue together! Its affecting everybody not only the ibos or obidients! At least during Jonathan era we Yorubas protest.though am not in support of protest, but we should speak together as a Nigerian and face our challenges together. if u have children and you are not eating from the government leftovers u will understand how the economy is hitting people deep.come to airport and see reason it's full everyday, just try and interview one or two person,u will understand people's plight. Am not a party person for your information but a Nigerian. One love is all am preaching. yarimo: 4 Likes 1 Share |

15 million households? How do you know them? I weep for this country where rogues have reigned for decades. Giving money to people that cannot be traced anywhere is stupid. When do we want to get out of this arrant nonsense? Give the money, but first make bank account in any commercial or community bank compulsory for everybody 18+ in Nigeria then you have useful data to trace those who are genuinely in need. 2 Likes |

Thonyboy: In the face of the recent proposed industrial strike by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), it's essential to question whether this is truly the best course of action. While industrial strikes are legally recognized in the constitution, it's crucial to examine their moral implications, especially in a country like Nigeria. It is important to note that many industrial actions in Nigeria have not been without consequences, sometimes resulting in the loss of lives. Often, it is the most vulnerable in society who bear the brunt of these actions. So, one must ask: If such events consistently lead to casualties, particularly among the marginalized, what purpose do they serve? Is the tone of this post suggesting that the NLC and TUC should never engage in industrial actions again? Not exactly. Realistically, it's improbable that they would heed such advice. If they would, then, it is essential to consider alternatives that could be more effective in achieving their goals. Both roundtable dialogues and industrial actions essentially aim to achieve the same outcome - holding the government accountable. So, it's time for the NLC and TUC to start thinking outside the box and exploring alternative methods of getting things done. One crucial aspect is acknowledging that the NLC and TUC alone do not fully represent the interests of all Nigerian stakeholders. Unemployment rates and those outside the NLC/TUC circles constitute a significant portion of Nigerian society. To devise a more meaningful accountability strategy, these stakeholders need to be brought on board. To hold the government accountable beyond industrial actions, the NLC and TUC must build a broader coalition. By collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders, including civil society organizations, youth groups, and the unemployed, they can develop a more comprehensive and inclusive strategy. In summary, while industrial strikes have their place in the constitution, it is unclear if they are fit for Nigeria, and if they are components of any Nigerian culture. The best bet to getting things done in the country may be sourcing for mechanisms that are rooted in Nigerian culture. On that basis, both NLC and TUC may need to start reconsidering their approach and mechanism for holding the government accountable. Most importantly, they may need to start embracing inclusivity by involving a broader coalition of stakeholders in their efforts to hold the government accountable. Until then, it remains to be seen whether a strike or no strike both they and the government can bring progress in the country. |

Nigeria Labour Laws must be reviewed, you get paid only when you have worked for the number of hours. Even to everyone in Three Arms of Government that's Executive, Legislative and Judiciary. This will send ghost workers out of the civil service. |
