There was palpable fear in Iwerele, Iwajowa Local Government Area of Oyo State, on Monday, as many were reportedly feared dead in a clash between Oodua Peoples Congress, Amotekun, Operation Burst, Soludero and a group of herdsmen.

The cause of the conflict was still sketchy as of press time. However, The PUNCH was reliably informed of the clash by a titled Chief in the community.

The source said a group of herdsmen had invaded a farm in the community with their cattle and grazed on it, a situation which led to the demise of the owner of the farm during the argument.

Our correspondent further gathered that combined security operatives of Operation Burst, OPC, Amotekun and Soludero were informed to restore peace in the area but they were allegedly ambushed by herdsmen. The number of those killed is yet to be ascertained.

As of press time, all efforts to get the state Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso’s reaction was not successful as he was not picking up his call nor responding to text messages sent to his mobile number.

I think it's better to split the country ,imagine the attitude of these fulani herdsmen killing the owner in his field and ambushing security men all in Yoruba land.

This situation is getting out of hand, how many farmers will be ejected from their own lands by Fulani Ak 47 wielding herdsmen before the govt do the needful.

All the southwest governors, political thought leaders and elders should as a matter of urgency come together as one and look for a lasting solution to the menace of herdsmen before it's too late.

That is good. They should drive the herds men out unlike one region where all the able bodied men have fled. As a result, herdsmen are having a "nice time" with their women.

They should transport all those touts in Lagos to Oyo, they are needed there to fight and retrieve their ancestorial land from invaders.

MC oluomo should lead the fight and chase those invaders out as the supreme army general of yoruba land.

Good. But why does any clash happen in Nigeria, some nonentity will be shouting Nigeria should split. If you are waiting for Nigeria to split, you are waiting for your forefather to come back from heaven.

Fulani herdsmen killed more 7 of your people in Oyo state including Amotekun, OPC operatives and a soldier and your only problem is pulling up old and stale news of herdsmen attacks in the SE just to console yourself or what? Are majority of you yorubas actually retarded or something? while not go on Twitter and Facebook and see what the herdsmen did to your people?

You're so daft and hopeless that you now compare herdsmen killings happening right now in your region to old attacks in the SE just to score ethnic points, over killings?! Kai e no go better for who curse yorubaa sha

Your women are being hacked to death and raped by herdsmen but you leave your own problem and carry another man problem for head.

And that's even leaving out IPOB hacking their own brothers and sisters to death as well.

Double calamity for Alaibo.

When did the hacking and raping happen in the SE this year? oh let me guess: you're going to resurrect another old news from 2-3 years ago of fulani attacks in the SE that have long ceased to happen! More than 7 of you pigs were suyanized just yesterday in Oyo state but you're worried about ancient news of herdsmen attacks in the SE because Igbos are your everlasting kryptonite!

Yaribanza coward focus on the topic and stop dragging Igbos into your fulani master and slave relationship! The same Fulani who warned you apes from performing your traditional festivals in Ilorin, they even locked up your brothers for daring to violate their warnings, and they are now begging the Emir to release them. Useless pathetic pigs 😂😂😄😂😂😄😄😄

This is not enough for anyone to call for balkanization. Instead, the federal government should enforce ranching.

These northerners should understand that cattle rearing is their private business and must not use it to ruin other people's businesses and farms.

This was how we began to read sketchy stories of pockets of violence and kidnaps in the North Central States of Benue and Nasarawa when Buhari took the reins. Until the events overwhelmingly blew to uncontrollable spates of violence bordering on ethnic cleansing and land tussles.

Same way supporters of Buhari kept downplaying things from the beginning and attributing them to figments of the imaginations of bitter opponents, is the same way Tinubu supporters are playing politics with what's going on in certain South West states right now.

Your Muslim(x2) ticket is already emboldening criminals of fulani extractions and they're slowly perpetuating societal ills in Yoruba lands, yet Tinubu's supporters are busy paying lip service and insulting others with pretentious rhetorics.

My only worry is the fact that SS borders Yoruba states and this menace is capable of exploding into our region when the chickens begin to roost. Otherwise, na to just sidon watch fulani people run una comot for una ancestral lands like they've done to certain areas of the middle belt.

Make una continue dey play politics with everything. Kwara state is potently looking like a conquered state already. Next is Oyo.
