Nigeria is set to become one of the top 5 economies in the world
October 18th 2023

Nigeria is emerging as a significant economic force on the global stage.
With a current GDP of $477 billion, Nigeria is Africa's largest economy and is poised for rapid growth.
A report by Goldman Sachs forecasts that by 2075, Nigeria is set to become one of the top economies globally.
The "Giant of Africa," Nigeria, is quickly establishing itself as a major economic force on the international scene.

Nigeria is positioned to play a key role in the global economy because of its expanding population, wealth of natural resources, booming tech sector, and dedication to economic change.

Currently, Nigeria stands as Africa’s largest economy, with a GDP of $477 billion, and a lot of wiggle room for fiscal expansion. Additionally, the country is estimated to grow at a rather rapid pace, taking its economic dominance past the African landscape and onto the global stage.

A report by Goldman Sachs, a world-leading investment bank, buttresses this point. In one of its research reports titled, The Path to 2075, the investment bank noted that Nigeria is set to become one of the top economies in the world by 2075, standing only behind, China, India, the United States, and Indonesia.

The report identifies four major themes for the global economy, “1. slower global potential growth, led by weaker population growth, 2. EM convergence remains intact, led by Asia’s powerhouses, 3. a decade of US exceptionalism that is unlikely to be repeated, and 4. less global inequality and more local inequality.”

The report also notes that by 2050, Nigeria will be amongst the top 15 economies in the world, coming in at the 14th spot.

An extract from the report reads, “The prospect of rapid population growth in countries such as Nigeria, Pakistan and Egypt implies that – with the appropriate policies and institutions – these economies could become some of the largest in the world.”

Insightful parameters.

The projection assumes that Nigeria will even exist in 50 years 😂😂 The chances of there being a Nigeria in 50 years are extremely slim. There’s no way the country is making it out of 2030s/40s yet alone in the 2070s. Many people internationally assumed that Africa might develop due to its high birth rates outstripping the rest of the world. This couldn’t be further from the truth. If Nigeria exists till 2070, It would have a population of 550 million. It can’t even manage the population it has now not to talk of 3 times that amount.

Oh shut up…

So long as GDP growth rate is higher than population growth rate (and it IS), Nigeria is on course for greatness.

If you hate to hear that, go jump in a lagoon.

Your hateful parents were also predicting the ‘imminent’ demise of Nigeria 30 years ago.

So nothing new about your type.

Delusion is Free. When has Nigeria ever functioned? Was it in the 60s,70s, 80s when shortly after independence the country had a civil war, coups after coups and more insecurity. You still believe in this scam called Nigeria? Nigeria on course for greatness? Look at the naira, look at the drug barren of a leader, high insecurity among numerous other problems. Nigeria is a failure that will soon be balkanised. The country never worked. It never did. It was never supposed to. It’s just a failed experiment of Lord Lugard.

Flat scalp republic should be excised from Nigeria. If this is done, Nigeria will be No. 3 behind India in next 20 years. They are dragging us back by a thousand years into stone age.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 Nigeria will never ever get to that stage. Look at the current politics of the country. The people there elected a drug barren as their president. The country also has an overpopulation crisis. Nigeria can’t even maintain its current population not to talk of 2-4 times that amount. People that still believe in One Nigeria amuse me. The country doesn’t work. It never did, never has, wasn’t meant to and never will. It was created as a business transaction. It’s a pseudo-nation. I’m not saying that Biafra will happen but as the suffering worsens. Nigeria will eventually balkanise. There is no unity in that country. Nigeria is not real. It’s just a rumour. It was rumoured to be a country.

I personally believe a confederation will do us good. Because it will stop the lazy governors from thinking there’s ready made cake to bite from at the centre without doing anything in their home states. It will sour up competition. And Nigeria will find its greatness in that. But total balkanisation will only create dysfunctional nation states around prosperous ones, thereby causing cross-border security problems for prosperous nations. But when such dysfunctional regions are still part of Nigeria, the federal government can still take over the management of such states from the ineffective leaders to administer, thereby bringing peace to other contiguous regions.

One Nigeria continuing to exist will just make the people hate eachother more. How much more bloodshed do you want before accepting that Nigeria can’t work? A confederation can never do it good. Look at how well it has done for the country now. There is no unity.
