Ebonyi airport is fast deteriorating with the facilities falling off. The airport was said to have cost the state over N36 billion naira which the state borrowed from financial institutions. The airport has been abandoned and no airline has agreed to land there because it is considered unviable. This airport project is the woeful undoing of the hard working former Dave Umahi. This airport is economically unprofitable to Ebonyi people as the inhibants are poor civil servants and peasants who are just struggling for daily bread. Hence, an airport is the lease of their worries given that Akanu Ibiam Enugu just about 1 hour away have been sub-serving the flying services for the elite who can afford. Foolishness. They want to build airport because Anambra built without having influential people or many companies/factories that will make use of the airport. They should have built rice, beans, grain silos for storage and processing plants. Should work on having constant electricity for the plants. 11 Likes |

nototribalist: No bro, most of the projects he (umahi) engineered and supervised the development frequently because my company too was awarded and participated almost half of those structures you saw at the airport and even me too I was opportune to work there from November 2021 to early this year, I witnessed the commissioning live and the governor offered a free flight ✈️ from Ebonyi to Abuja down to Lagos before the handing over of power. |
