Bad news for tax evaders... Other states should follow suit.

The only issue here for is the Immorality and corruption among those in charge of revenue collection and disbursement.

It's painful to be paying taxes yet your states and nation wallow in underdevelopment and inflation.

Taxes are very important in a normal setting but naija government no normal and we tax payers are vexing..... Nothing to show say we dey pay tax

No jobs for 70% of graduates. Graduates are selling gas at the corner of each street. Graduates are running around as real estate agents. Graduates are rushing to take jobs as mai guard. No benefit from the government. How many of these people will be given loans? How many of them are pursuing contracts? Yet Adenuga was skating by without paying license fee for Globacom. How many tax rebates and waivers has Dangote enjoyed? Is it the kobo kobo that the poor disenfranchised masses pay that Nigeria is waiting for? Dream on.

One thing i like about England when it comes to tax. They won't chase you but allow you to invade for long then once your cup don full, youll pay heavily and might even still go to jail.

If the president supports wike's idea, it will work

I spent 11 years of my life in the north.
I lived in Birnin Kebbi, Zuru, Yauri, Sokoto, Kaduna, Suleija then Abuja.
Wike is not targeting the low income residents of the FCT. He knows what he's doing.
I worked for a woman between 2012 and 2016 who never paid any tax from 2006 until 2015 when the authorities came for her.
The backlogs amounted to over 80 million naira at the time. She owns three schools and a series of other business.
We ended up "settling" with less than 40 million.
This woman in question has been taking series of loans to establish other business and making huge profits.
Shortly before I left her establishment, she took a loan of 120 million naira from Platinum Mortgage Bank Ltd (they were located at AYA at that time) in November 2015.
I know this because I handled the documents leading to that loan and our staff were mandated to open salary accounts with the bank.
I am privy to her dealing with fidelity, zenith, guaranty trust and access banks.
I am talking of hundreds of millions in loans.
These monies are deposits made by Nigerians who work hard to earn the money.
People who don't pay taxes should not be granted access to credit facilities at all!

The citizens of England already know that the tax they are paying for is being used to better their lives and as such, they don't hesitate in fulfilling their obligation to the government.
But over here in Nigeria, the citizens already know that if they should pay their tax, that their evil and corrupt leaders will embezzle the money and for that reason, they refuse to pay their taxes.

I educate you once again. Wike is not Igbo but Ikwerre. Ike may be strength in Igbo. In Ikwerre strength is called Iknernema for short you can say ikne. Now one thing in Ikwerre language is W play an adjectival role of description. In every Ikwerre name you can add W to it to give it an ownership identity. Ikne is strength. Hikne is something new. Wikne or Wike for ease of pronunciation by people of other tribe is Of something new. Another meaning is: This is a new thing. It is not the same as igbos Nwike. Respect others.

Generating the revenue is not the issue but what will the revenue be used for? That is the concern of the citizens.
Leaders that will use the money realized from the tax to buy exotic cars, build mansions, acquire properties illegally and lavish the rest on prostitutes while the citizens are left to wallow in abject poverty.
