EZEKIEL 4:4

[NKJV] — “Lie also on your left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it. According to the number of the days that you lie on it, you shall bear their iniquity.

[FBV] — Then lie on your left side and take the Israelites' sins on yourself. You will carry their sins for the number of days you lie on your side.

THE MAN WHO CARRIED THE SINS OF A NATION

In the Bible verse above is an instruction of God specific for Ezekiel, commanding a unique godly ritual that laid iniquity or sins of an entire nation on the left side of the man's body pinned, so that he bore the sins of that nation (Israel) for specific and significant number of days. It came before the Lord Jesus Christ Himself bore the sins and sicknesses of the all men in all ages past and present on His Cross of Crucifixion. Sins or Iniquities indeed could be borne by the sinless or righteous, and so it did not start with the Lord Jesus; nevertheless it's finished with Him.

As a Watchman of the house of Israel, Ezekiel already bore the blood of the wicked and the righteous on his shoulder as his responsibility to warn them. But apart from bearing the responsibility of preaching and warning them, he's to temporarily bear the sins of Israel on pinning his left side for 390 days and then after he will also bear the sins of Judah on pinning his right side for 40 days. Behold, we bear with one another and forbear one another in patience, long-suffering and tolerance, unless you do not bear or carry the faults, offenses or defects of your people.

[Galatians 6:2] — "Bear you one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."

How God instructed the son of man to bear the sins of Israel on his pinned left side may inspire us, but the Lord Jesus Christ bearing our own sins during His suffering will inspire us more. Behold, the Lord God in Heaven currently is still bearing the whole world everyday the world is allowed to continue living as it pleases without regards to God and His Infallible Words.

Key things to bring out from God's instruction to Ezekiel pertaining bearing the sins of Israel all according to the top Bible verse above: - 'Pinned to his left side while bearing the sins'

The word "Pinned" as I apply here means to "held fast, immobilized or fastened" in a way that the pinned cannot shift or leave a background or ground. There are wrestling matches that only require a wrestler to pin his opponent to the ground or wall just for only three counts or three seconds of immobilizing his back, so that he can neither raise his back shoulder from the ground or his back arm from the table if it's an arm to arm wrestling involving trying to push and pin the back of opponent's hand on the table while both elbows are pinned to the table.

To bear the iniquities or sins of the nation, he must be pinned or immobilized. Not like the scapegoat that was to carry the sins of the nation away from them into the wilderness: that too is another godly ritual as in "Leviticus 16." We are not talking about taking away the sins, but about bearing the sins on him. The Lord Jesus Christ was both the Lamb of God that takes away the Sin of the World, and also the Lamb that was Slain. In Leviticus 16, it was supposed to be two goats or two animals for the two roles: one will be slain and the other will take away the sins and be allowed to go. But the Lord Jesus Christ was both the Lamb that took away our Sins and also the Lamb that was Slain.

When He was Slain or Crucified, he was pinned to the Cross and immobilized, as in, hanged on a Tree with all His Back sides and Back Hands pinned to the background or Cross; and then the Cross was lifted from the ground to stand up as a pillar or tree.

As for Ezekiel, he was to be pinned to his left hand side and immobilized by the weight of the sins or iniquities of the entire nation of Israel, for 390 days which is for 390 years. Can you sleep on just one side of your body without turning on your bed for just 6 hours, even without any load or weight laid on you?

I tell you, up till now there wounds on the Backside of the Lord Jesus Christ, because men and women continued to sin even after they knew how much terribly He suffered for kinds of sins.
