3) companies revenues would grow increasing government revenue

5) GDP would have grown by at least 8 billion dollars

If we give that to garment factory

If we used that money to help glass importers set u floating glass factory
If we used that money to help Leather works industry
If we used that money to make improved agriculture seedlings available

You dont seem to understand the benefit of effective transportation to economic growth, business and development. It transcends cashback, has multiplier effect on growth. I currently run a project in Kaduna with my business based in abuja. I am able to plan my movement and cummute with ease, both my abuja and kaduna business are running smothly, imagine knowing you cannot miss an appointment beacuse the train is always on time no delays or hitches. This is what investors look at to make business investment decisions
Lmaooo so you can't do that by road or flight?

Don't imported goods get to Kaduna? Why can't you use same infrastructure the importers use

The big picture is to spread economic growth in the SW through integrated rail, metro, bus, and river transportation similar to what is obtained in OECD countries.

As it is people living in Ibadan and Abeokuta can conveniently transact business in Lagos and return to the comfort of their homes. You can take the main rail line; from Ibadan, get off at Ikeja and take the red line down to Marina. At Marina, you can board a BRT bus to Victoria Island. In fact once the other lines such as the Purple line begin to interface nowhere in Lagos will be more than 30 minutes away.

Economic growth becomes unmanageable without a good transport system that can open up different locations and spread wealth. This is far more important than having industries that struggle to get their raw materials or that have high costs in getting to market - bringing about high cost. Wealth distribution is key and transport infrastructure is the platform this rides on.

Stop displaying your ignorance , railways are used majorly for heavy duty transportation and it is part of what was expected for all the rail networks in Nigeria to haul goods from one end to another , passenger trains are just an addendum and the real revenue will be generated when haulage services commence.

When you all travel abroad what d0 you g0 there to utilise? Is it not good infrastructure? The pharmaceutical industry you are talking about is it only road they will use ? Won't railways come in handy? By the way why didn't your PDP leaders carry out your idea since they don't do " feel good projects "

Don't mind him ,the Obi the worship left debt for Obiano ,when they asked him he said the debt is tied to projects , why didn't he pay for the projects without borrowing? U would never condemn Lagos metro it was not built with loans

Two Lagos is in a better financial situation than Nigeria

Your debt servicing to GDP ratio is 105% you manage to get loans and it's rail way you think of building? Is that not madness?

Rail systems is like building a house in your village or taking your kids to vacation

They are important but makes no sense to do them when you have no money and you borrow to do them

There is nothing the trains can do that trucks can't do

And the rail for moving of goods is locomotive rails not this modern passenger trains wr built

I checked the site now, it's still only Abuja to Kaduna route that is there. How can you use loan to build train and allow manual ticketing? The last time I used the Ujevwu to Itakpe train, policemen, civil defence officers, train workers all have seats reserved for them that they fix passengers and collect the money

Make I help you with few benefits here.
*Reduction in Road Congestion: The Abuja kaduan rail system has led to a decrease in road congestion, as more people and goods opt for rail travel. This, in turn, reduces wear and tear on roads and lowers maintenance costs, benefiting the local and national economy.

*Enhanced Productivity: The Abuja kaduna rail ensures reliability and punctuality for people and businesses along the Abuja kaduna corridor, the rail service allows businesses to better plan and optimize their supply chains. This predictability and efficiency in logistics can leads to increased productivity and cost savings for industries relying on transportation.

*Improvement of Livelihoods: Access to the rail system has improved the livelihoods of individuals living in Abuja, Kaduna, and the surrounding areas. It has expanded the pool of employment opportunities, increased access to education and healthcare, and improved overall living standards, indirectly contributing to the economic well-being of the population.

*Job Creation and Economic Development: The construction and operation of the rail system have generated employment opportunities, directly and indirectly. The infrastructure development phase created jobs in construction, while the operational phase continues to provide employment in various roles, including train operators, station staff, and maintenance personnel. Additionally, the improved connectivity has attracted investment and business development in the region, fostering economic growth.

*Boost to Regional Trade and Commerce: The improved transportation infrastructure has stimulated regional trade and commerce. Businesses can now more easily transport their products to different markets, and consumers can access a wider range of goods and services. This has contributed to economic growth and the expansion of local businesses.

*Enhanced Connectivity and Accessibility: The rail system has improved connectivity between Abuja, the capital city, and Kaduna, a major economic hub in northern Nigeria. This increased accessibility has facilitated the movement of people and goods, supporting business activities and trade between these two important cities.

*Reduction in Transportation Costs: The rail system provides a more cost-effective mode of transportation for both passengers and freight. By offering an affordable and efficient alternative to road travel, it has helped to reduce transportation costs for individuals, businesses, and industries in the region.

the Abuja-Kaduna rail system has provided economic benefits by enhancing connectivity, reducing transportation costs, boosting regional trade and commerce, creating job opportunities, and attracting tourism and investment. These advantages have not only improved the quality of life for residents but have also contributed to the overall economic development and prosperity of the region, I no say you fit no even understand all these things sef.

Are you for real? Most of the companies you mentioned up there can sort for fund and get it if they are serious. One of the biggest problem of Nigeria is people with the money or those that have the capacity are always afraid of taking the big steps, infact most times they wait for others to start first and when they see their is huge profit they jump in. Infact it's easier for big companies to get fund in Nigeria than small companies. The railways are extremely important, they can be use to move heavy goods like agricultural produce from the north to south at cheaper rate which can in turn reduce the cost of food. Petroleum products can be move up north from the south. Carrying heavy goods via railway will in turn prevent over use of our road thereby extending their lifespan.

So all this justify wasting $1 billion of money we borrowed on that project? Lmaooo

1) was there even a road congestion issue between Abuja and Kaduna? The answer is no
So that point is invalid

2) enhance what productivity abeg? Do you just state random things from your head?

3)improve what livelihood lmao oya give me one community that has benefited n what it benefitted una self eeh

4) job creation? Total job created from th 1 billion dollars project is less than 1000 how that makes sense to you needs to be studied

5) did you just say reduce transportation costs? Bro pass me what you are smoking. .

Rail cost more than bus travel to the sake Kaduna

6) economic activity .... Exactly name this economic activities. Are they imaginary? Or only you can see them

I want to see the value of the economic and that would warrant $1 billion dollars investment we borrowed

You obviously haven't owned a factory

The best loan you can get in Nigeria is 25% interest and you start paying immediately

Bros carry heavy duty machines, petroleum products and the rest.... Were this things lacking before now? Did anyone in the North tell you their issue is how to move goods and machines..

Have you seen any machine on those trains?

The imported goods how do they move them

Trains are good but borrowing to build trains is foolishness

mrvitalis:

I can't know the total details of the rail

But I know enough to know they are economically none viable and a waste of limited resources at this point

If Nigeria he excess sure rail is a good investment sure but to borrow money to build rail when your debt servicing is more than revenue is something only socialists can come up with

Since you have no idea what you are debating, let me leave you in your ignorance , ignorance they say is bliss , 5 to 7 years from now I will come back here ( if God spares our lives) to remind you of your ignorance, hopefully before then you would have reversed yourself and borrowed knowledge.
