President Bola Tinubu has mourned the passing of Professor Ben Nwabueze, who was once Minister of Education.

Tinubu, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, described the death of Nwabueze, who was also a foremost constitutional lawyer, as a profound loss.

According to him, Nwabueze’s knowledge of law was outstanding.

“Prof. Nwabueze’s contribution to the precedents and principles of the nation’s constitution is notable. His involvement in the drafting of the 1979 Constitution is a legacy that stands him out, as well as his outstanding contributions to the legal profession at large,” he said.

Tinubu asked his family, the good people of Anambra State, and Nigerians in general to take solace in the worthy legacy that the deceased left behind.

The President prays that God Almighty grant Prof Nwabueze eternal rest.

Professor Ben Nwabueze was a constitutional legal luminary. I remember his law firm on Lagos Street, Ebute Metta, Lagos those good old days.

He died without actualizing his Igbos presidency agenda.

See the way Tinubu eulogized him for his participation drafting the much criticized 1979 constitution.

The man probably died a long time ago, but his family were waiting for Atiku to be President before they announced his demise. Alas, supreme Court judgement sealed the hope of Atiku and his co conspirators.

You are cconfusing him with Ben Akabueze who was also DG budget under Buhari. Budget and revenue are different.

This one was the one that drafted the decree under Ironsi that abolished regional govt and handed power to the center.

Haba. Pa Nwabueze is a true Nigerian elder statesman. He held preference for his Igbo tribe in a decent manner within the Nigeria nation and I commend Papa for that. He was equally very brilliant. The President has done what a great leader should do: give honour to whom honour is due. Pa Nwabueze is old enough to be his biological father.

Rest in peace. So it was even under aguyi ronsi that the federal government was given heavy power.. as that is the case, igbos should stop crying about central government n stop clamouring for regional government..they did it m they started it.
