How many people will be able to afford such vehicles going by the present economic condition of Nigerians?

Preference should be given to available and affordable food, electricity, petrol, cooking gas and adequate security.

They do, u complain, they don't do, u still complain.

Too much talk is not too good for this government. We need very quick actions. By now we should have been sitting in some of the CNG buses. I remember those days when Abacha's Governemnt was been threatened with strikes by NUPENG. Abacha ordered about 1000 tankers from Mercedes Germany and they arrived within 6 months of the order. So what is all this talk talk
The individual Nigerian states are supposed to roll out these CNG buses after conversation of existing buses.

Just 2 days ago, Ogun State led by the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun (who is also an oil and gas business mogul with a deep knowledge of CNG) rolled out their own buses.

You can view these Ogun State CNG buses rollout on YouTube. Lagos State has also launched pilot electric buses this year in partnership with Oando.

The Niger Delta States of Bayelsa, Delta, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, etc, would be the immediate major beneficiaries of these CNG buses because of gas availability and that would lower the cost of food and transportation in those states.

Did you know??

Morocco is Africa’s largest exporter of cars. It generated $11 billion from exporting 464,864 cars in 2022.
Morocco is the largest exporter of passengers cars to Europe.

It exports cars through its huge sea ports.

👍

I am not surprised.

Morrocco can export cars duty free to the EU.

So manufacturers have set up shop there to produce cars for the huge $18.25 trillion EU market.

Manufacturers are rushing there because labor is cheap, cheaper than that of EU member, Romania. This is the proper way to thrive in manufacturing.and not by banning this and banning that.

The government should encourage people to use public buses like the CNG ones instead of congesting the roads with plenty private cars.. just like they do in the UK, you have trains, buses so no need to be driving long distances just to prove a point that you're a big man or woman.

Moreover, the supply of CNG has to meet up with the demand.. as you want to release 1 million buses, you should make provisions for CNG fuel stations across the coumtry so users of CNG vehicles can refill when they run out of fuel.

Do we need to talk about gas volatility?.. CNG is far more dangerous than petrol with high flashpoint.. CNG is gas and will easily explode when heat of the surrounding is high or when someone mistakenly use lighter or matches close to where the CNG is being dispensed. The government should please factor in these things and educate the illiterates that might see CNG as a means to make money. You must train all your attendants very very well on safe handling of the gas if not, your investment and lives of many Nigerians might be at stake.

I totally agree and you can see that the states are even faster than FG in rolling out the buses. This confirms my worry that the FG is tallking too much with little action. They are too slow. By now we should have seen delivery and operation of the FG supported CNG or even EV buses in at least Abuja even as a pilot while other follow. Nothing from FG on this till now. If FG had opened discussion with Marcopolo Brazil who supplies some of the BRT buses, and some of the trailer manufacturers here or overseas under very mutually beneficial models, by now the effect on lower fares for movement of people and goods would have kicked in and this alone can help tame inflationary push by 50 or more percent. Transportation is the major cause of the inflation currently being experienced.

Time is running out. FG must begin to lead by action.

Perhaps you are referring to yourself with respect to how you were leaving before now,.

Then why is the person/government you are supporting bringing up palliative measures if not that things are now worse than it were before they assumed power.

What I know is that many Nigerians were leaving better than now.

Everything is not politics, my comment wasn't based on who is in power, its based on present realities in Nigeria.

During GEJ's time in power, do u know what economic hardship was?
People opened shops to sell casava stems.
Many many states were unable to pay salaries.
People suffered, did he give palliatives, the answer is no.
People have learned to speak up now than before, that's exactly what it is.
People were living fine and all of sudden they were no longer living fine?
The truth is that life has always been hard in Nigeria since the eighties.
Did people speak up?
The answer is no, if life was easier why do people always get excited at the sign of a messiah?

But what's your view about such people and the capability of government to tame such? Are the 'bad eggs' bigger than the government? Government should be able to tame them I believe.

Government that will tame people reaches down to our grassroots, from FG to state which has a huge role to play but Nîgeriàns are so fixated on FG that their state governors will pull a heist and go away with it successfully.
