lexy2014 did anyone see the police taking his car. I thought He claimed they took his car from him plus the video doesnt show him being threatened with a Gun |
lexy2014:the screenshot answer number 1.. an officer has right to threaten a civilian who commits an offense (that offense can range to breaking traffic laws to kidnapping) and forcefully resist arrest..he is no longer just a civilian at that point but a criminal as well weather armed or unarmed |
as long as it doesnt lead to scarcity of SIM cards |
he should be jailed immediately ![]() |
new2012:no body said there are no DBs they are simply not reliable in issues like this as they are not as advanced and paired with sufficient amount of computers to begin issuing ticket instead. he was not harassed but arrested and vehicle impounded |
lexy2014:I have answered your question he did not cooperate. The officers never wanted his money but to seize his car. Rufai didnt complete his story. the officer would have drawn their weapon to force him out his car while he was insisting on paying |
lexy2014:No body will point a Gun at him if he played the game without unnecessary resist.. judging from Rufai's personality I am 99.9% sure he didnt admit to his crime at first, resisted his car taken from him and would have wanted to cause a scene.. hence the extra measure.. You and Rufai should also know that there is no such thing as paying for breaking traffic laws at the point you were arrested..he wanted to do the normal Nigerian thing and Bribe the officers..(offence number 2) If he truly wanted to pay for his crime. He should walk to the station and pay to the authorities and get his car released as that is the right protocol in Nigeria. anyone resisting an arrest can compel the officer to use other measures. His firearm is inclusive..this is a global practice. |
lexy2014:nobody will point Gun at him if he corporates peacefully |
new2012:that database is not entirely reliable sir.. I know what I am saying.. if he is driving on the road the next day..and he is stopped at a checkpoint the police at that point have no means of checking his details via his vehicle license or whatever to see that he committed an offense few days ago..all the officers do is to check if his vehicle is ok and he is allowed to go free... Police vehicles are not fitted with computer to validate things like this the same way you see in other developed countries..there is already a sophisticated system that will still compel vehicle owners to willingly pay the charges on their ticket,,such doesnt exist here..hence their method of enforcing traffic laws can never work in this part of the world... the only way to enforce traffic laws in developing and under developed countries like Nigeria is to seize their vehicles and motorcycle and the criminal goes to the station to answer to his crime |
saajus:stop being naïve..you think he truly wanted to pay for a ticket that doesnt exist or bribe the officers.. if any money is transfered to the officer..do you think it will be registered as the fee payed for committing the offense or the officer will thank God say he don see money to go house.. let be realistic here..The officers are right to have seived his vehicle ..the same way they seize the okada of abokis who do such and you see nothing wrong.. if he wants his car back , he should walk to the station and now properly pay to the authorities there |
busayo2uk:please be realistic.. This issue isnt about advance country.. You and I know that there is nothing like ticket here..there is no reliable database that contains the phone number and email of every Nigerian with a vehicle or motorcycle including the agberos and okada riders.. in the absence of this ..when you break traffic laws..your car should be seized then any necessary bill you need to pay for your crime .you walk into the station and settle it and collect your car.that is the system that works for us..until we get to the status of "developed countries" when you are arrested for breaking such law and you do not submit your self easily and peaceful or you resist. the officers have every right to pull his arm or use extra measures... am pretty sure if it was the case of all this hausa guys riding okada on BRT lane..your stand is that the okada should be seize..abi you wan tell me say na aboki go receive email of ticket? where as in your so called developed countries the motocyclist and his bike would be allowed free and ticket will be served..HYPOCRISY! |
am pretty sure.. He didnt give the keys easily or admit his fault civilly to the officers upon arrest.. he probably went down the Nigerian way..till the officers pulled out their guns.. . something must infuriate a nigerian officer before he threatens to use his arms.. moreover while will someone of his status commit such offense .. and he wanted to bribe them sef..smh no body will just carry Gun and point at you if you corporate well |
Evolutionlove:it is not economically feasible to dredge more than 600km of water..just a port for onitsha the entire industries and imports in general from onitsha and the whole anambra cannot match that of Ogun state and River state. delta state instead should have a port and onitsha business men should use it |
aribisala0:the port of Onne is a standard port..it needs extended from 9m to 16m the exisiting calabar port only needs dredging to bring it to life.. onitsha port isnot feasible as the entire niger river from the atlantic ocean leading to onitsha will need to be dredged.. that is not feasible |
Sweetboilooks:onitsha doesnt have proximity to the atlantic ocean. no big container vessel will sail there..the niger river doesnt have a depth up to 3m.. a sea port needs it waters to be atleast 9m deep.. what onitsha needs is a functional river port ..all SS state should have sea ports |
