The Federal Government has allocated N15 billion for the comprehensive repairs of the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos, according to details from the recently passed N2.18 trillion 2023 supplementary budget.

Also, the government has stated that it owes contractors of the Eko/Marine Bridges N11.4 billion.

The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, Olukorede Kesha, in a statement announced that the Third Mainland Bridge would be closed for five weeks of repairs starting on Monday, November 6, 2023.

“Given the above, the motoring public is now notified that the repair works will commence with the ramps connecting Oworoshoki to Adekunle and Lagos-Island (Adeniji Adele) to Adekunle simultaneously.

“Consequently, the two ramps mentioned above will be closed to traffic by 7 am on Monday, November 6, 2023, for five weeks.”

Meanwhile, during the supplementary budget defense of the Ministry of Works, the Minister, Senator Dave Umahi, lamented the continued collapse of bridges across the country.

“Our story on road infrastructure is a very pathetic one. When I came on board, we inherited 18,897 road kilometers, totaling N14tn; within the time I came on board, about N3.1tn had been paid, leaving a total certificate of N1.6 trillion.”

Another opportunity to embezzle money. If you know you know. wink

After FG (Tinubu) is done with Nigeria, Nigerians will understand why the so called stingy man like Peter Obi is needed (someone that can manage, checkmate and investigate projects properly before handing over money to any construction site or firm).

Peter Obi we all know would have ran this economy better than the corn loving aged criminal called Ebola BAT.

But this is Nigeria where looters and riggers are cheered and hyped to High heavens by their tribesmen.

I'm still waiting for the political lesson APC under Tinubu and their Ronu bandits will teach PO and Labour party. Bunch of clowns.

What Contractor is being used?
They should use JB And fix the problems once and for all instead of mushroom contractors that do half measures only to reaward another contract in few months...

Why not build another bridge, since I was born,
The federal government of Nigeria has always been working on
1. Lagos-ibadan expresss way
2. Third mainland bridge
4. Benin-ore express way
5. Ajaokuta steel plant

Is it that these projects can't be completed?
