Only 20 directors out of 85 initially invited to seat for promotion to the post of Permanent Secretary in the federal civil service have successfully scaled through the exercise.

The successful ones are expected to participate in the final stage of Information Communication Technology (ICT) test slated for today in Abuja.

Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HOS), Dr. Folasade Yemi- Esan, disclosed this yesterday following release of the results. She explained that out of the 85 candidates, four of them did not show up for the examination, in what she alluded to fear.

Yemi- Esan said there was need to emphasize meritocracy and integrity of the selection process. “It should not be about the number of successful candidates but the quality of the candidates.”

According to her, President Bola Tinubu has by this exercise further assured that he is not pressured by any socio-political interest to compromise the present system of subjecting all candidates to various levels of assessment to test their competence.

Maybe the rest graduated from non-existing Government College, Lagos 1970 & were issued certificate by 3rd party vendor.

Nothing makes a man lazy and dull like working for Nigerian public service. You cannot be smart, want great things out of life and be working in Nigéria's civil service, unless you are just there stealing public funds.

If Meritocracy and Integrity mattered anywhere in Nigeria, Buhari and Atiku would never have ever contested for elections, not to speak of the former becoming President for 2 terms.

You can't have the quality of leaders (both elected and appointed) and speak of Meritocracy and Integrity.

If we really dig deep enough, she might have strayed far from those terms in getting to that position.

This exams for Perm Secetary and civil servants is a game changer

From fake WAEC result to fake degree, they don't even know anything

Funny enough this same Parents would yell at their children and push them hard because of academic qualifications

Governors and Minister no get results, common o level, Presidential Aspirant they get F9, Permanent Secetary na Olodo rabata

You were asking them the wrong question, their main work is how to inflate contracts and share money across board. They teach successive administrators how it is done. They embark on useful foreign conferences and get handsome estacodes almost quarterly, the least car in their fleet is their official car. The junior staff is waiting for his turn to get promoted and start getting the lion share from the table. Every contractor who does not agree will live to regret and nothing will happen. The sad story of Nigeria's corrupt civil service.

Let's be sincere with ourselves, most of these people have since forgotten about 'book'

All that matters is budget padding, contract inflation, ghost workers manipulations, etc

Integrity has since been relegated to the background in public service.

'Honesty is the best policy' as we were taught in elementary school in those days has since been trashed into refuse dump

Must northerners don't know how to read or write but they are in highly placed offices in federal parastatals. How those ones wan write exams pass. Even Igbos that claim they are the highly educated can't find themselves in government. They love to trade and insult the government. If we had them in government as much as we have them in business i am sure things would have been better. Igbo Kwenu!

Those who deserves to be in that position will be appointed with merit. These will aid efficiency in the system not that the Per Sec. will be dependent on what is dictated to them to execute and act on.

LET US SEE THEIR SCORES.

NEVER TRUST THE NIGERIAN CIVIL SERVICE WITH THINGS LIKE RECRUITMENT OR PROMOTION EXAMS.

THE SAME THING WITH PTDF SCHOLARHSIP AND OTHER GOVERNMENT EXAMS AND SELECTION PROCEDURES. AS A MATTER OF FACT, THE PTDF OVERSEAS SCHOLARSHIP AND ALL PROMOTION EXAMS IN THE CIVIL SERVICE NEED TO BE INVESTIGAED BY THE EFCC AND ICPC.

IT IS WHICH EVER NAME THEY PUBLISH THAT YOU HAVE TO ACCEPT. MEANING THEY CAN AND THEY DO INFLUENCE AND REMOVE NAMES AND ADD NAMES TO THE LIST WITH IMPUNITY. ALMOST 100% .

THIS WOMAN SUSPECTED TO COLLECT BRIBES FOR ILLEGAL, CLOSED-DOOR RECERUITMENT IS EXPECTING THAT I TRUST HER LIST? HOW CAN I TRUST WHAT SHE SAYS. HOW ARE WE SURE SOME OF THOSE WHO PASSED ARE NOT GODSONS AND STOOGIES OF TOP POLITCIANS? HOW ARE WE SURE THEY DID NOT PROMISE PART OF THEIR ALLOWANCES AS PAYMENT FOR PROMOTION? WE KNOW HOW PROMOTIONS ARE SOLD AND UP FOR GRABS IN THE CIVIL SERVICE.

IF YOU ARE NOT CLOSE TO THE CIVIL SERVICE, YOU WILL NOT KNOW THE ROT. IT IS A BIG SHAME.

I KNOW A LOT OF GUYS IN THE CIVIL SERVICE ARE DUMB PEOPLE. HOWEVER, I ALSO DO NOT TRUST THIS WOMAN.

MAKE THE RESULTS PUBLIC. REMOVE THE SYSTEM WHERE THE FINAL LIST IS PUBLISHED BY YOU WITHOUT THE ABILITY FOR PEOPLE TO KNOW THEIR SCORES. IF POSSIBLE, MAKE IT THE EXAMS AND RESULTS DIGITIAL AND IMMEDIATE.

LET PEOPLE SEE THEIR RESULTS IMMEDIATELY.
