COMPAQ:

Its priced in usd

That is for the international market, what we use for local consumption should not have the same rate like what is sold at the international market

E never reach when youโ€™ll work on steady light?

We never to enjoy steady light like other African countries?

This will boost employment and development.

Stopping the hike has only temporary effects as it will still be increased later just the way we enjoy fuel subsidy for some years and now back to the normal price.

Work on steady light Mr. President

Is this the most confused indecisive government that lacks vision and strategy?
Re: Tinubu Stops Electricity Tariff Hike, Insists On Subsidy by nairalanda1(m): 3:01pm On Nov 09, 2023
Like I said in the other thread subsidy is a bad way of paying for power.

Removing subsidy from power would enable the sector make profits, which can be used to improve power supply. Instead we keep it and at the end of the day we end up with low profits and bad power.

We have been subsidising power for decades now. It's not working.
Re: Tinubu Stops Electricity Tariff Hike, Insists On Subsidy by oyeb15: 3:05pm On Nov 09, 2023
Tinubu would have achieved a wonderful administration if not for his huge inaugural personal mistake.

He hiked/ remove fuel subsidy. Results

Shutdown of local production
Reduced export
Inflation
Insecurity
Collapse of SMEs
Weak naira in local market
Lack of credit facilities
More unemployment
Sooner or later = Revolution

As long as fuel (energy) remain expensive in Nigeria, Tinubu government will keep moving Nigeria backwards.

Okay. Do the right thing. I hope this measure is temporary because government cannot be paying for people's electricity. No country in earth does that, except maybe the oil rich Arabs whom God hath blessed beyond imagination

Sheesh! God has blessed Africa more than oil rich Arab nations. Much more. The difference between Arabs and Africans is that they have better leaders.

Nope.

Most Arab countries are a mess (Yemen, Syria, even Iraq and Lebanon which is basically the IMF's slave...their debt makes ours look like chicken feed).

The prosperous ones like Saudi, Qatar, and Kuwait, and UAE, are oil producing nations that produce five to ten times what we do, with small populations. As a result, revenue per capita is higher. And even then, the living conditions of migrant workers in say the UAE is atrocious

You just have to be delusional to be an apc miscreant.

When rational people point out the errors/mistakes/failings of a policy by apc, its miscreants will blindly support & insult & abuse every sane critic.

When that policy finally flops, those same miscreants will still insult those who had already pointed out the flaws in that policy.

No effort at rational reasoning. Just spewing regurgitated propaganda, lies & gibberish

Wait what were you expecting before...someone opened his eyes. Saw the wrongs being done to the country by APC before the drug baron got in. Then saw that the drug Baron is still trying to get in through any means possible.. Pablo Escobar got in and yet still supports him through all the careless policies and you expect such persons to be rational of thoughts..come on na....

Yeah because even among the 12 disciples, there was Judas! Those dt get bills and don't pay is d marketer's inability to do d needful else there's collaboration with the customers. Bypassing prepaid meter is not out of place but such customers will be dealt with when caught. Poor customers that live in places where there's limited or no supply of electricity hardly bypass their meters but the d rich mostly, on band A/B do
